My sim just got married and got the wish to have five total kids and it said he already had three of them. He only had two...that I knew of. I checked his family tree and apperently he had a third son living in France named Philleepe. My sim isn't even into the ladies and I had him doing adventures the entire time he was there so I don't know where the heck this kid came from.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? D:

Upon visiting France, did your sim have a negative moodlet about another sim dying?

Yeah actually he did, I had no idea who died either. >_<

This is a very common WA bug, in which you inexplicably end up married to a foreign sim or with some random sim as your child. Goes to show you how much EA cares about actually testing their game. If you want to prevent it from happening again, you can install Awesomemod. To remedy this current situation, I suppose you can remove family ties using Twallan's Master Controller.

Same happened to me. My gay male sim has children in all three locations. And once he came home from France with his last name changed to "Girard" and I have no idea how that happened! Was able to go to city hall and change his name back, but still!

Yep, this is an infamous glitch that for some reason the EAxis team hadn't fixed yet. I recall from another website that there is a certain Sim in each locale who does this and in order to avoid this glitch entirely you have to keep your Sim from meeting him. Unfortunately I forgot where...

Well if it is always the same sims causing this glitch then the sim in China is a dude that has the last name of Hong. My sim had her name changed to Hong and was given a random child when that old guy died.

I'm not so sure it is always the same sims though. I wish that were the case because then we could just erase the offending sims.

It is never the same Sim in each location. But I think chances are higher that it is an unmarried elder because as soon as they die the game needs to find a replacement. And IIRC a thread that I read somewhere, the game seems to check that elder's relationship statistics and chooses the one Sim as potential father or mother with the highest relationship score. If that Sim happens to be your own you might end up with some unexpected child. That's EA's way of creating plausible scenarios.
If you use AwesomeMod this won't happen, if you don't you should probably avoid any foreign elder that is not married.

I think it has to do with the talk to the townies on vacation in Egypt. You have to ask several townies about Mercorp, after that my male sims will come back and there is one of his new freinds and a child. If you are playing an imortal Sim and letting the others die the Sim child can grow up on each visit. Mine tend to die before the Adventure sim gets beyond young adult. When I was playing a locked out normal lifespan the kid became my new contact when the old one died, then his son then became the contact.
