Have you ever just wanted a place to share little interesting tidbits, vents, debate, discussion, anything, without going to that specific section? Like a dump of sorts? Like a box o' chocolates? Something of everything? Sims 1 or 2? Then start here!

I'm going to start off with a bit of a discussion. :)

If you could do one storyline but couldn't accomplish it with your skills right now, what would it be? For me it would probably be a city story. I have to do small towns or the suburbs or else it just seems weird and off-balance.

Interesting question. I've been really wanting to do a completely scifi themed neighborhood. I even downloaded terrains, and started making my own skins for the races of the aliens. Basically, it was going to do something where Earth came to an end and luckily, the government was able to save a small population of sims and take them on space shuttles to search for another home. They land on this new planet where there are four races. Purple skins, Yellow skins, Red skins, Green skins. I was going to have this huge apartment type lot that was kind of a big dorm where all the humans are forced to live in the middle of the city.

I even started making futuristic homes and everything but it just takes SO much effort and time to create such a setting for my game. I built some of the human survivors from earth in my body shop and what not but I got so tired of all the creating, that I took a break from building that, got distracted and ended up downloading the megahood and giving every single premade sim my own unique makeover and playing that instead.

The problem is, it takes way too much time to build an entire hood, and it gets boring and I just want to play lol. Not enough time..

After gorging on George Orwell, I've decided to make a hood where all the families, who I will play in rotation, are very poor and without jobs, relying only on their businesses. Other inhabitants can only buy from these shops- no buy mode. I thought about downloading lots of 1940s style clothes, but I think, because this takes so much time, I'll just lose interest by the time I've booted up the game!

If I remember correctly, in 1984 they all wore the same blue overalls. I don't think much CC would be needed, just that and "thrashy" looking stuff, for that grungy dystopian look.

It's an interesting idea, actually...

In the 1984 movie, the Inner Party wore black overalls, the Outer Party was in blue, if I remember right.

Maybe someone can come up with O'Brien and Winston Smith Sims...make them look like their respective actors, Richard Burton and John Hurt. That'd be interesting.

In 2006 I had the most amazing neighborhood in the whole world. It had this massive family tree where almost everyone was connected (no SimPE either :)), complicated love affairs, a ton of houses I built...it was a soap opera. Then something happened and it got corrupted, so I had to reinstall. I never really got over it, and what I really want to do with my game is have a neighborhood that amazing again.

Not a story line, but I'd love to be able to work a 'hood with different class settings (poverty, working, middle and upper), having limits on what kind of housing they can have, what kind of jobs they can have, and other things. While I'm a micro-manager when it comes to day-to-day playing, it's a bit beyond my current scope to deal with a 'hood full of sims and a spreadsheet full of information about them.

I would, obviously, have some system in place which allowed people to move up and down the classes, although I would have to make it so that I don't end up with a 'hood full of upper class sims after two generations :P

I would like to play a hood with lots of different plots going on at the same time between different families. I would never really get bored with it. I don't think it would be possible though considering the amount of sims it would require.
Like Milkiemybaby said too, I would also want to have a place with a humongous, spread out family tree where everybody knew everybody.
Also, an apocalypse setting. That would be interesting.

I did a 1984 book report video with the Sims 2 actually. Most of my stuff was from obscure LJ's and Garden Of Shadows, and then there was the Apocalypse challenge here which make it look so much better. :) I loved that world but sadly the 'hood was lost to bad CC . . .

I'd really like to just change things about my rut of the "perfect home life" I've given nearly all my sims...but I can't bring myself to tear up these happy relationships and cause hate...
Especially since I don't want to call the exterminator from so many Sims knocking over trashcans all the time...

I am currently working on an "everybody knows each other and is related" hood, but something I have been dying to do is just play out storylines on neighborhoods such as Pleasantview, but to me I wouldn't know where to start, because I want it to be the ultimate storyline. Maybe if I wrote it out...? :)

I finally got my new laptop and again my game is installed. I never managed to finish a hood and populate it. So my goal now is to do. I am decorating and redoing some houses(makeover in some Maxis houses and others downloads ). Than I put a family, decorate and play all monday until next day(to test if something is not right in the house).

I like having one custom neighborhood with a bit of everything in it: poor families, rich families, odd families,vamps,werewolves,warlocks...Why bother creating tons of different themed towns when you can have all in one?
For example,my only custom neighborhood features a special 'corner' for the magic population, full of huge castles inhabited by my witches and warlocks; then there is the urban part of the hood, where all the apartments are; and also a suburban part with thrashed apartment buildings and loads of miserable, poor sims living in them. The best corner of the hood,of course,is reserved for the posh family homes of the rich sims.
