Hi there!! So, i've been playing sims 3 since it came out, and i've been making small challenges for myself to make things a bit more interesting, and thought i would share with you guys one of my more challenging ones.
This game requires only base Sims 3. However, i do have a vampire version for nightlife that is extremely difficult to pull off. If enough peple are interested, i'll post that one as well.
NO CHEATING ALLOWED IN THIS CHALLENGE!!!!
(Except to change your money to zero at the beginning.)
So, first off, for this challenge, you will need to make 3 people.
A father(Adult) with these traits:
Absent Minded
Green Thumb
Loves the outdoors
Either Grumpy, or Hot-headed
Either Couch potato, or Slob
A Son (Teen), with these traits:
Green Thumb
Either Evil, or Good
Hates the outdoors
Random
A Child(Daughter)
Genius
Either Evil, or good. Opposite of the Teen.
The rest can be random

This next choice in your game is worth points, and a marginal difference in points at that.
Once you have created your family, in whatever NH you have chosen, you must choose which lot to buy. Here are your choices:
1. The farthest lot from center of town. In some neighborhoods, this is a huge difference. +1000 points to your score.
2. Near the center of town. +0 points. Your close to town. That's all you get. :D
3. Somewhere in between. +500 points to your score.
Please note, that for this challenge, under no circumstances, are you allowed to call for a taxi. If you don't have a bike, or car, your walking! Keep this is mind.

Once you have chosen your lot, it's time to do some building.
Build a 2 by 2 building. This will contain one toilet. That's it.
Buy 2 benches.
Buy tree's, and bushes, and other outside things to make your lot look empty, and homeless.
Buy things till your broke.
Keep a spot on your lot that is 6 by 6 open on the left side from the street. No tree's, or anything like that. This will be explained later.

Now for the explanation:
In this game, your family is homeless, and broke. And the father doesn't actually care all that much. But, hopefully by the time the child is an adult, things will be much different.
Here are the rules, and scoring list:
1. No cell phone usage. At all. Any challenges that come from being called, must be ignored, and canceled. No answering the phone. I'd suggest silencing it.
2. No Kleptomaniac trait. So, no stealing from others.
3. No using taxi's. If you need to get somewhere, and haven't yet gotten a bike, or car, your walking! Better leave early. :D
4. The father cannot have a job. He is to garden to feed his family. You may not sell any plants grown. If it goes rotten, throw it away.
5. The Son needs to get a part time job. He is the only person allowed to use that money, whether it be to eat, or anything like that.
6. The daughter, upon becoming a teen, needs to get a part time job as well. She is the only person allowed to use that money.
7. The son, and father are the only ones allowed to gather seeds, and do anything garden related.
8. When the son becomes an adult, he is allowed to get a full job. It must be the same career path as he had as a child, or the closest one possible.
9. Same rule applies to the child.
10. To pay your bills, whatever they may be, you may sell 3 fruit. The rest comes from the teen's money.
11. Upon saving up 10k simoleons, you may build a small house on the lot. However, it is only for the teen, and child/teen. The father likes to live outside. He gets the bench. He is not allowed inside the house at any time.
12. The Son is allowed to get married only after building a house. His wife, or husband is allowed to move in. They may not garden.
13. After building a small house, you may use a phone, only if you have bought one in the house. Still no taxi.
14. If a fire starts, it must be put out yourself. No fire alarms.
15. No maid, or repairmen, or butler.
The scoring list!!:
Each day, the kids grades will add, or subtract points:
For each A, add 100. (A total off +200 a day)
For each B, add 50. (A total of +100 a day)
For each C, add nothing.
For each D, minus 50.
For each F, minus 100.
Plants get you points as well:
Starting at average, you get +10 for each plant grown.
For each plants that dies though, minus 30.
For each plant that goes up in level, you get to add +30 to each plant grown.
But if it dies, you lose 60 points.
If the father dies, you lose the game.
If the teen dies, minus 600 points.
If the child is taken away, you lose the game.
For every skill you get to 10, you get +3000 points.
Up to 10, each skill point is worth 250.

The game ends when the child makes it to adult, gets married, and has a child.
