View Full Version : Sims pop out of "try for baby," and have a question about testing cheats...

I've searched all over to see if anyone else has this problem, couldn't find anyone...

When "trying for baby" just before the lullaby would probably play my sims will suddenly pop out of the bed and be standing next to it. She can't get pregnant. Have tried this over and over and my sim doesn't get pregnant. I clicked on her with testing cheats enabled and the "transition to age" is grayed out and the mouse over says "this sim cannot age." Has anyone seen this or know what it means? I've had this sim since the game first came and have always played with aging off. However, I turned it back on when trying for baby. Also, the animation when eating ambrosia does the same thing to my sim - she will pop out of eating it without the swirly color thing that happens, and then she will all of a sudden be standing next to the table. It seems these are all related somehow to age, but I haven't been able to fix it. I've tried taking all custom content out. I don't use hacks. I have all expansion and stuff packs and game is fully patched. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Judging by the code, I'd say it's very possible that your sim has a borked pregnancy reference. It's either that or the AgingState is corrupted. The latter one doesn't seem that likely in that case, though. You may want to try my Birth Control Mirror (http://www.4shared.com/file/jlbrsvAo/Buzz_BirthControlMirror_V12_1.html) to wipe out the pregnancy if there is one. To find the interaction, click on a "Hi Def Mirror" (the modern rectangular one that is divided into sections), "Birth Control", and "Extract Stuck Chicken". twallan's MasterController probably has such a function, too. If that doesn't help, or your sim isn't listed in the upcoming dialog, you may upload your savegame and I'll have a look at it.

thank you - I downloaded the Birth control mirror and will be testing it out later today (after work).

If you have Twallan's Master Controller:
Click on the Sim
click on NRaas
click on MasterController
click on Advanced
if there is an option for "End Pregnancy" click on it
If there isn't a "End Pregnancy" option, then the sim isn't registering as pregnant

I tried the birth control mirror and the option "extract stuck chicken" but it said my sim wasn't pregnant (or something similar). I pretty much knew that. So now I'm wondering if it has something to do with her not being able to age. I have no idea how to fix this, however. I guess my sim will just go on and never have any offspring...

have you tried removing all custom content, deleting cache files, and testing to make sure this isn't a cc issue?

Yes - I've removed all custom content, packages and sims3pack files, deleted cache files and ran the game, but the same thing happens. I've even switched to another neighborhood from Sunsetvalley to Riverview to see if moving would fix it but it still happens. I think the problem is with my sim directly. It has something to do with the aging process. For some reason, she can't age no matter what I do and therefore, cannot get pregnant. Maybe its the result of playing with aging off for this whole time (been playing the same sim since sims3 came out). I have no idea how to fix the aging problem, though, and I have absolutely no problem with any other aspect of the game but this one problem that I guess I will have to live with (sigh)...thanks for trying to help tho!

Well if I were you and the sim was pretty important, I would attempt to create a clone and replace the glitched sim. It would require you to direct the glitched sim to go to the dresser or mirror and plan outfit or change appearance. When there, copy the sim to the Bin, then exit the dresser or mirror. Go into Edit Town, then Create Sims and look for your sim in the bin. If you wish to make any changes do so, otherwise save the clone as a one sim family. Once the clone is saved as a family, they can be added to your game. Place the clone in the same house as the glitched sim. If you dont have Master Controller, download and install it to your mods\packages folder. Use Master Controller to edit the clone to match your glitched sim, you can add the correct career and level, skills, etc. Once your clone is complete and proven not to have the same issues as the glitched sim, delete the glitched sim and continue the game with the clone.

This sounds like something that may work! Thank you - I'll try that out :)
