Hey,
Just this question. As far as I know. There were only 2 vampires included in Latenight, right? (Beau Merrik and Elvira Slayer)

Well...I dunno. Maybe story progression mode made others get bitten or something. Because Matthew Hamming (A-lister)and Bianca Rubble(sloppy policewoman) are vampires in my game, too. When I started the game fresh, (just barely installed late night) Those 2 (Matthew Hamming and Bianca Rubble) were included as vampires. But the sims wiki description saws they are supposed to be normal sims. Not only that, but Matthew had a daughter and she was BORN as a vampire. Not bitten or anything. Just a natural little mini-vamp. Even as a toddler.

Is this just a bug? What's with all these vampires? :wtf:

It sounds like story progression to me!

Which version of story progression are you using - the default one that comes with the game, Twallan's, or Awesomemod's?

There are ways to have fewer vampires in your game, if that's something you want.

There are more vamps than those two in Bridgeport when you begin a new game. 7 or 8 or 10 or 11 or thereabouts. Afterwards, the default story progression chooses sims randomly and turns them to vamps at approximately 1 am. This can be as often as one sim each night or every other night. Until the vamp population reaches approximately 40% of total population. These new vamps are not bitten or "turned" by current vamps; sims are simply altered magically at 1 am into vamps, with no rhyme or reason.

The two gigantic story prog mods mentioned above can be used to prevent this weirdness, or this: http://nene.modthesims.info/d/424796 which is EA's XML storyprogression with the vamp generating removed.

I haven't noticed that in my game and I've been playing LN since it was released

whoa, I was having to same thing happen to me. What about the part where scootie says a child was born as a vamp. Do vampires just give birth to more vampires?

There's a chance that a child born to a vamp will inherit vampirism. Not sure what the rate is.

In my neighborhood so far it's been 100%. Though that's with just 5 vampire births. Three from one vampire and one human parent, the other two from two vampire parents.
