Quick Mesh Editting Problem (Milkshape)

Whenever I open a mesh to edit, it is a jumble of lines and I can't actually edit anything because of it. See attached image. Any solution to get rid of all the lines?

easy fix. go to file > preferences then the Misc tab. Set joint size to 0.01.

To hide the skeleton, go to the joints tab and uncheck show skeleton
