View Full Version : Dont you think female sims are way too flat?

Its not some pervy thing or anything, but I do think that the women in the sims are way too flat...all of them have extremely small breasts and ass, hips and waist.
they all look the same, and I think that barbies have bigger proportions! I think maxis should have included some sort of adjuster for these things...obviously not something to create pamela anderson or anything, but giving a bit of variety to the proportions wouldnt have hurt.
like I said, this isnt a pervy thing, I just like my sims to look real.
what do you think?

There are breast sliders if you patch your game fully. And there are custom sliders for pretty much everything else (and also more breast adjustments custom too).

You can change the size of the breasts. Hmm, changable butts, hips and waists might be fun :D Have you tried looking around to see if there's a download for those things?

Do you need expansions for those sliders? and which patch does it?
well I remember that the first time I had the game, I had installed an anticensor patch and added nipples and genitals to the sims...but I dont know if there would be an ass slider xp

I have the custom sliders for butt, breasts, calf, neck, chest, shoulders, waist, etc. For women and men (except bust). Don't like EA's boob slider at all.

There are, on this site. Jonha made sliders for those a long time ago. Just throw them into your game, fire up CAS, and use them.

Barbies have extremely unrealistic proportions. So saying that Barbies have bigger proportions means you must have some extreme standards.
Breasts and butts are fat deposits on the female body. So women who are slimmer tend to not have gigantic knockers. There are exceptions, of course, and it's well documented that many men prefer slim women who have large boobs. So it's not like you're weird or a "perv," OP, but you may not have been aware just how unreal your real is. o.o

I tend to make the female sim more muscular and raise the slim/fat bar to a little over half way to get curvier females. I dislike that, cause I want them shapely, but not muscular. With the higher muscle tone, I have to use the breast slider so they will not be flat. I don't use the CC body sliders.
Lightleggy, the breast sliders came with the Late Night patch. It was added to the base game.

I once heard that if a real woman had Barbie's proportions her back would break! Not sure if that's true, but it came from a science teacher so seems like it would be fairly credible.

It doesn't take much to tell if a person is a noob.
Don't meant to attack, hehe. But seriously, look closer in MTS. In fact, look for a few premade sims on MTS such as "Faith Connors", "Snowy White", (and I forgot a super sexy male sim), the descriptions do say that in order to have these sims look anywhere remotely close to the screenshots, you must download skin/hair/clothes, and a good collection of sliders. So your comment today is pretty much only valid for console versions of TS3.
In defense of EA, in business sense, it is unwise for them to give specific sliders to breasts, butts/hips, waist, etc... Certain groups of users would exploit this for their own "pervy needs" in which it raises a lot of red flags (on top of what Sims already has with its nature of gameplay) with another group of users (their parents, although not necessarily playing, but 90% in control of paying and giving permission to play), and thus directly affecting sales. In short, it is wise for them to make the bust size the way it is: not way too flat to be unrealistic, yet not way too big to cause too much attention. Heard of Grand Theft Auto 3 (correct me if wrong)? Because of carelessness, they missed a tiny feature in their cleaning process for final release (that becomes like an easter egg), which allows player character to ... have explicit sex with a prostitute. This caused a huge fuss and I think GTA had to raise its rating to M from R. It is best that EA steers clear from that if they still hope to sell their game to anyone under 18.
TS3 is already very reasonable with their human models comparing to other games or animations out there. I remember Everquest's human female has bamboo sticks for limbs and DD breast size. Anyway, when you install those sliders, make sure you install the slider limit extender mod (to increase the amount of sliders possible in CAS since EA default limit is too low).

You make a good point.
<off topic>
The game you are speaking of was GTA: San Andreas, the last member of the GTA 3 series. Other members in the series include GTA 3 and GTA: Vice City.
Rockstar Games (the company that produces the GTA series) really did drop the ball on that one. Anyway, the rating of GTA: San Andreas was bumped up from 17+ to 18+, which really isn't a significant difference. Though it was enough for Rockstar to release a fix ASAP to restore the 17+ rating.

Changable butts may be funny but putting sliders for it is an advantage to a woman sim. :D

You know, I am quite unhappy about the butt slider. It gives a very unnatural curve when you try to increase it farther into either range. Beside making the perfect sims, I like to make wide range of sim collection that has a bit of everything: an overweight mid age lady, or anorexia girl. I was not trying to be extreme, but make it believable, like a style of RPG in the Sims. Anyway, both big butts and super skinny butts come out rather iffy.
I think I also have complaints about Delphy's breast sliders as well. As most players, I want my sims to look unique and true to their roles. I wanted to make a mid age lady with busty breasts but (due to her age and living condition) her breasts become somewhat saggy (as in not perfectly round and lifted like a silicon doll). Delphy's breast scale, breast height and breast fullness would be the 2 sliders to make this happen. However, the final product came out rather disappointing: there is a clear gap between the breast bottom and the chest. It looks too visible even from the distance. So now I have to avoid making any breast that sags even a bit.
Despite all these, I think Delphy and others (in which I believe Delphy is the pioneer) had done us a huge service by creating these extra sliders. Since no part of my $200 paid to TS3 went to them, I have nothing but gratitude to these people. In fact, I really refuse to play without these sliders. :gjob:
My wish list is to have the breast slider to do some effect on male as well. I want to see the distinctive enlargement in the male's breasts. Every neighborhood can use a sexy body builder hulk don't you think?

young girls should know the difference between a "social 'standard'" and a "self image" not compare themselves to a piece of plastic, and learn to love themselves.
I don't blame them. Females go through some pretty dramatic changes (compared to males) once they hit puberty, but that's another conversation for another thread, on another forum

Speaking of the irony, please meet Justine Warren, an NPC generated by TS3 when I attempted to visit Simerset apartment, 6979 Landgraab Loop, which belongs to a pre-made "Bumble" family of 1.
Honestly, I was running around testing performance after doing a huge major overhaul with the Bridgeport routing fix, NRaas' dozen of mods, etc... I just randomly picked several place to go. In here I clicked the call box and she said "I will be right there!" and walked straight down wearing bikini. Don't ask me why she is doing that, I just met her. Anyway, look at her ... asset. It is no where close to being flat.
In fact, since I have NRaas' Master Control now, I can do things like putting them into CAS for closer look. From the bartender girl at swimming club, to the female bouncer, to this girl. It is pretty certain now that all female generated come with a DD size. Let me call the maid to check her.
Update: Just called the maid over. Then I used Master Control to get her into CAS, notice the default settings on CAS sliders. (my sim is Faith Connors from Mirror Edge game, downloadable sim from MTS if you want to know).
So looks like as long as you install Jonha, Delphy, ... sliders as recommended for most of the sim download on MTS, you will get this result. My TS3 sims are anything but flat.
Or to help in the creation of moobs for fat dudes.
No, I tried. I wanted a couch potato who is a computer geek (I was watching Eden of the East anime, which has a computer wizard who has not left home for 3 years). But the moment I tried to increase his "moobs" as you said, his back and his head were squished forward. Not good.

Every female sim from Bridgeport is like that.
Anyway, Maxis default setting is about right as far as realistic proportions go, sometimes it's even a bit on the big side (if you want a skinny tomboyish sim.)
Bridgeport being a cross between NY and LA with more than a bit of usual siminsanity may legitimately claim thriving cosmetic surgery industry. :D

I think the point of Bridgeport is supposed to be an LA/Hollywood-type location where all the young starlets got plastic surgery so they can look like supermodels. That's not caused by Delphy's sliders, it's caused by EA's bone assignments. It's most noticeable on the bikini tops, bras, and the one sheer top. A year and a half ago, I had "fixed" those meshes by changing the bone assignment percentages, but never shared them because I only got through teen, YA, and adult. Due to laziness, I never finished the elder version.

I didn't state it is Delphy's fault, just the result of the sliders. If possible, can you upload those fixed meshes here just for the shake of sharing knowledge? Don't make it a real download, since you feel it is not complete.
For the other player, here are the links for the 2 important slider collections that you must have:
10 new CAS Sliders by Johna (http://sims3.modthesims.info/download.php?t=378416)
Adjustable Female Breast sliders by Delphy (http://sims3.modthesims.info/download.php?t=373389)
You can do a Download search on MTS with "slider". I know MTS' search feature is no where close to Google, so its not too easy to find things, but "slider" will do.

This is a really deep representation of the messages the media sends to children, BUT maybe girls should find someone else to look up to instead a chick who cant keep a stable job and(most likely)lied on a lot of her job applications. No one jumps from astronaut to figure skater to rapper to an army medic in the Gulf War without a little embellishment.

I think only the last two jobs can be considered "realistic". Only one of these can be considered something worth actually BEING, though. The other is a path which typically lands you in prison at some point, and cannot be considered a positive role model for anyone. I'd love to see Prison Barbie, though. Let's see how she looks in orange pajamas.

To all honesty, Barbie is basically The Sims for kids. We play on computer, kids use real dolls and their imagination. We built lots, kids have barbie house. Of course, someone will argue about the difference, but honestly it is quite on the same ideology of simulating life, except we do it in a more discreet and mature way (The Sims manage to stay away from pink color).
For your information, I grew up in a poor family and I was not given any pink dressed barbie doll. I bought Lego with my allowance money though, somehow was convinced that barbie toys were way more costly than Lego. Regardless, I still played "build some stuff, simulate life", which leads to Sims obsession now.

Playing with DOLLS is the Sims for kids. Not all dolls are Barbie dolls, despite what Mattel would like you to believe ><
I had a dollhouse and some lil dolls, both inherited from my mom, with some clothes and furniture she'd made for em and more that we made ourselves. Also had larger dolls. Played lots of make-believe games for them, acting out scenarios of different kinds. Did NOT have any Barbies.
Playing with dolls is great. Barbie... is a bad doll... for kids that is, though she's great for ironic postmodern artworks ;)

Sorry, when I said "barbie" I may have referred to a more general term for dolls. My mistake! Though "barbie" is rather a trade marked term by Mattel, as you have reminded me. But it became such a household name that it already replaced the "doll" word. I am able to tell the difference, but just the barbie came to my head first and without thought, it means "dolls" to me.
In which reminds me of something interesting, in Asia (in which I know), since not everyone speaks English (duh), a lot of words mean nothing to them beside the brand names. So if you are to ask what "Citizen" is, they might answer "a watch". Malboro = cigarette, pilot = a pen, honda = a car/a motorcycle, etc... And of course, barbie = doll even if it is not remotely resembling Mattel's flagship Barbie doll toys. With better communication thanks to internet, people are able to tell the difference now, but when I was young, especially raised by Asian parents, at one point I could not tell the difference between Honda and motorcycle. I heard this often "My dad just got a brand new Honda made by Mitsubishi". Sorry for going off topic, just being nostalgic
