I'll take some pix when I'm at home tonight. Oh, I did bad things, I married the king to one of the NPCs, then, I gave her a profession, and I forgot I wasn't supposed to make a new monarch, but I did anyways. Having two monarchs made the furniture mode not work, after some attempts to rectify the situation, somehow I managed to get the kingdom to recognize the npc wife as the queen, so I right click selected her. She's playable and furniture mode is back. But, I can't take her into CAS, not from the debug menu or from a clothing chest object. After sleeping, she got stuck in her nightgown. So now she wanders around everywhere, in bare feet with nighty. It's kind of charming. And it's funny seeing the King her husband bow to her all the time. There are some objects she can't seem to interact with, so I am guessing the kingdom is buggy.

It's really clear from the way I am playing this that I need to be able to make npc's playable, and I need to have children age up, altho I don't really miss sims getting old. I need to be able to save the children of the heros. I guess that means I will be playing BNW Quest a LOT. I would also like to be able to establish family relationships between heros. Right now, one of my heros is doing autonomous romance with his brothers youngest daughter. (In his defense, he and his bro were imported from another kingdom, so he doesn't really know he's her uncle.)
