One of my sims, Cheryl, rolled the want to "Win Fight With Leonid", and the fear "Lose Fight With Leonid"... Leonid is her brother, they have a 100/100 relationship, are BFFs, and have never ever even argued. Wtf? I've never seen this want before, what's up with Cheryl? Some odd sibling rivalry issues brewing under the surface? :wtf:

They're a weird family though (these are the Tricou teens and their descendants), 'cause Leonid's grandchild Leo just rolled the fear "Sim is chased by Lennon", Lennon being his toddler brother... :giggler: Maybe Lennon has rabies?

I have experienced this too. I guess the fear is really that a Sim will be chased by a dog or a wolf, but something gets messed up.

I have actually had a Sim chased by a kitten! A KITTEN! :wtf:

I had a Knowledge sim roll wants to win fights with his fiancee and another friend; but he rolled those in his sleep and it was in the aftermath of my Inexplicable Aspiration Glitch.

I like to have my sims in bed when I close a session, and I do a lot of social connections so most people have lots of interactions and want/fear fulfilling in between; so it's common for me to come back and find strange wants in the slots. They generally roll away on rising, and I put them down to dreams.

I had something like that happen in my game once, too. Lucy Burb rolled a fear the fear "Sim is chased by Mary-Sue".....yes, as in the one and only Mary-Sue Pleasant (who, because Daniel is Jennifer Burb's brother, is Lucy's aunt by marriage and lived with the Burbs for a little while after she caught Daniel cheating on her with the maid and moved out.)!

I literally LOLed picturing what a sim getting chased by Mary-Sue would look like!

I have a sim who rolled the want "flirt with armando." Armando is her step-father and he's been her step-father since she was a child; maybe even from when she was a tot, i'd have to check the memories on that.

If you play with ACR I'd friendzone them fast otherwise those two will hop in the sack before you know it, the game unfortunately doesn't recognize stepparent relationship as a parent. The game is just reading the fact that the two of them have a close relationship.

The "flirt with stepfamily" want is a weird glitch, but don't worry: they can only use the family interactions. However, that only applies to direct stepfamily -- stepparents and stepchildren/stepsiblings -- once it gets past that point... they're recognized in the same way as in-laws: able to use the family interactions, but the romantic ones are available, too.

The game has two checks in place when characters interact. First, is the "are we family?" check, and then a "are we stepfamily?" check. The second check checks the relationship between the parents. The "flirt with" want usually occurs when the sim is the first sim the other has talked to in a while, and while the character isn't controlled (either a visitor or on a community lot).

I don't have ACR, but I do like drama. So I went in and let her have her want (had to tweak some things in SimPE in order to allow it). Though now she's rolling even stupider wants about her step-father, like get engaged to him and marry him. She's a family sim, I'm pretty sure she'd be devastated that her mom got another divorce. She's really messed up. Since when do sims ever roll wants to get engaged to a sim who's already married. I better double check her mom and step-father's marital status; I'm pretty sure I remember them getting married.

If you mean "flirt with Armand" then it's Tara DeBateau. I haven't played her long enough yet but her step-father Armand DID adopt her as a child after he caught his fiancee (presumably Tara's would-be mother) cheating on him. YIKES!

Armand DeBateau is Tara's father (albeit by adoption), not her step-father. So no romantic interactions for them!

The Sims having "Fears" was always there starting with the base game, the different is when NightLife expansion was introduce to the Sims game. It added a whole new richer and more intricate complex with new relationships interactions. NightLife added the Furious State, Rivals, and Contacts, the Sims became much more competitive with social interactions no matter if it was a family member or not.

Even if the relationship is good the strong competitive nature of the Sims is there. For example to win a game or not, or to win a fight or not, the furious state can come in many forms that can cause a Sims to have a "Want" of a fight. NightLife Ep made it possible to have these new interactions like Talk Bad Mouth, insult, attack.
Some Sims are so sensitive to words or actions from another Sim that even if they are friends or have an ok relationship the Sims can quickly have a "want" in a dreams of winning a fight.

Then we have "Rivalry" adding another level to the Sims when it comes to romantic interactions if your Sims have a Crush, Steady, Love, or Married relationship with a Sim, it is possible that some other Sim will try to horn in or take that Sims away. I guess All's fair in love and war.

With Nightlife came "Contact" out of the blue your Sims can get a phone call from a Sim he or she doesn't know. Creating a temporary relationship, the best way to handle contact is to make them actual friends. They come in handy if your Sims need friends for a job.

The Contact calls is funny to me because they will ask your Sims out on the town, and your Sims really never have met them. So all and all NightLife interactions Furious State, Rivals, and Contacts is a wonderfully complex, we as players of the Sims have to continue figure out how to manage all these interactions with our Sims. Not counting what the other Ep's expansions have added to your game after NightLife for more drama. :)
