View Full Version : Game crashing when hovering over certain objects

I've followed the suggestions made in the help section, removed added content, deleted caches, removed every bit of my user content; including saves and such. I've even re-installed and re-patched the game.
The game is crashing every time I hover my mouse over an object like a stove, grille or fridge. Selecting other objects like cars, TV's and etc. and playing the game otherwise seems to work just fine.

Hover? Or did you click on them and (normally) would expect some kind of menu coming up? Like clicking on TV would get something like "Watch TV, Turn on, Exercise, ..."
Does it happen to any particular objects every single time? Are they base game objects or custom objects downloaded from players?
My guess at this point is that you have a script mod dealing with those objects, for example: Buzzler's mod added a menu on Mailbox for "Disable carpool". So if that mod is acting up, then whenever clicking on mailbox will likely crash your game.
Anyway, need more info, it can be anything from bad script mods, to corrupted saved game at this point, and I can only guess.

Nah, just hovering over the items crash the game. Clicking on the TV, computer, cars all work fine, the game runs fine until the mouse runs over a fridge/oven/grille. I have no mods relating to them.
I even removed my save files and started a new game and it crashed.
I can't figure it out :faceslap:
About the only thing that would contribute to this problem would be PC performance, my PC is just a little shy of requirements but I've been running the game smoothly for a couple months without issue, I don't see why it would suddenly do this.

Problem solved, the DEP program was crashing the game. Oddly enough only when I hovered over a cooking/food object :/
