View Full Version : House restored from library is vertically offset

My house is in a lot that I placed myself in Bridgeport across the road from the school in the side of a hill (the only place I could find where it would let me place a decent-sized lot). I saved it to the library and recreated the lot in a new save file in as close to the exact same place as I could and loaded the house from the library. It now appears vertically offset, sunk into the ground. Here's a screenshot:

If I move the placement of the lot slightly it also changes how far the house is vertically offset, but I can't get it to the correct level. It seems to always be too low. Is there any way to change the base height of the lot or to move the complete lot from save to save preserving its position?

This looks like it's caused by the slope. You might be able to find a good level by playing with the setimportedterrainoffset cheat. You type it like this:
setimportedterrainoffset 0
But change the 0 value. Positive and negative figures will cause the lot to be elevated differently, so you need to save before doing anything and be prepared to experiment. Set the level and then try placing the lot, I would start off by guessing a figure and then adjusting from there- for example setimportedterrainoffset 5.

That worked, thanks very much :)

You'd think they could just make it match up with the road height for a house on a lot joined to a road, but oh well.

This looks like the same glitch reported on Armiels DIY nabourhood. I have also experienced that now. Seems to be related to moving lots around nabourhoods. At least that's my experience. Someone suggested it had to do with using the flatten lot tool.
