View Full Version : NPC Unwanted Marriage!! Help??

Greetings everybody,

Sorry if this question is innapropriate but, I am in panic here.

I have created on my SIM3 (all expansion packs) two households, A and B; I wanted them to get married and yesterday night, both were single and all was promising to go super well.

So I save my game, go to my bed, wake up, connect the sims all happy, just to find out that my Sim A got married to some ugly NPC I cannot even control, and that I can't find any way to kill her or divorce her so he can resume the affair with Sim B!!

I tried the save game trick, the swap neighborhoods, but when I am back to SIM A, he is still married.

What I do now??

How do I add that ugly woman on my household so I can kill her? (missing the firework launcher on a 2X2 squares for TS1 now and praying she will drown in the pool...)

Thank you desperately,

Giucee

Its much more fun to break up the marriage. :giggler: Without mods of any kind you chat one up til you can ask them to move in and you control the one you want to marry and have them break up (the reaction and music might be worth it), or add them both to your household when prompted on the move. Then you can have your way with the unwanted one, Lock them in a basement, have the unwanted one gaze at the stars til wee hours of the night til demolished by a passing meteor, but you risk your other sims as well. A drowning perhaps?

I have the lovers-to-be in a great mood but... I found out the woman NPC is also a vampire. I killed her 8 times but the ripper keeps bringing her back. A PITA.

Any working fast ideas??

This doesn't solve your problem with the unwanted marriage, but whenever I end my play session, I pause my game. When I come back, nothing's happened to my sim.

It'll keep your sims from making future mistakes while you're not playing...

twylanns master controller is a quick solution. You can point click and have fun

Writer, it is true that no, it does NOT solve my problem, BUT it PREVENTS, so thank you so much!!! Will do that for now on. Can you pause, and save, and go sleep??

Hooligan -- will google for it.

Now, for those poor unhappy people that face the same issue, here is what I did, in baby steps... because I had to go get baby steps from 57221315 different forums before finding a solution for myself...

01 - Get your sim to invite over your NPC husband, wife, child, whoever else.

02 - While waiting, press the keys control + shift + c and on the top, a dark transparency will show up. Type in "testingCheatsEnabled true" without the quotation marks. Copy-paste does NOT work (for me) by the way, you have to type it by hand.

03 - Do the same ctrl+shift+c and type "moveobjects on" also.

04 - As soon as the NPC arrives, press shift and click (normally) on the NPC. Choose the option "add to household". The sim was added to household? GREAT! Now click on its face to activate it, then shift-click on the sim you want dead again, and choose "Modify Traits".

05 - Make SURE the sim does NOT have the "unlucky" trait, or the ripper will cry for you instead of taking you away. Since you want that sim to die anyway, replace for anything else.

06 - If your sim is a Vampire, go to the SCIENCE FACILITY; do NOT go to the hospital like some forums say. The hospital only gives you plasma. Go, I repeat, to the science facility. Buy the vampirism healing and bring the sim back home. Do NOT drink potion yet. (PS, now that you already know, duh, how to use the cheats window, the cheat for a quick buck is "motherlode". No quotation marks, of course.)

07 - BEFORE drinking the potion, empty the sim's inventory of anything that reminds you of blood, plasma, etc. Books and entertainment too (drag from inventory to floor). Then, drink the potion.

08 - As soon as you can, and while the vampiric curse is lifted, build a room without walls around the sim to avoid unwanted escapades, and click and lower your moods tab all the way.

09 - Observe joyfully while the grim ripper FINALLY takes the unwanted sim away.

10 - Do the same for every kid or other family members you don't want. If your sims are not vampires, just skip steps 6 and 7.

11 - Enjoy your love life with whom you TRULY wanted to be with!!!

I found out I have a daughter and I cannot have any interaction with her or call her over. I wonder, but sooner or later... mwahahaha!!

On a side note, I am not evil. I am just a hopeless romantic who likes perfect romances to be perfect, without any third parties. If not in Real Life, then at least.. in game!

And thanks to everyone else above that did help me out :)

Sim B can ask Sim A to break up with his current wife. If Sims A and B have a sufficiently good relationship, it will appear under 'friendly' or 'romantic' once you've moved through the levels far enough.

To prevent that sort of thing happening again, you need a story progression mod that you can customise to stop story progression affecting sim A.

As above, so below: point me one "ex" that doesn't give you trouble in Sims Life and Real Life? LOL Death it is! At least on the sims, this much can be controlled, jail/guilt free...

Regardless, where do I find such mod? At least some keywords that make such search a bit easier :)

Thanks!

I'll pause my game, save it, and then quit and log out. When I re-start the game, my sim is still paused, time frozen solid. Used to play this way in TS2, but with EA's weird story progression in TS3, it's absolutely essential to keep my sims from doing something stupid while I'm not watching...

Wait....Are you saying that if i don't pause my game before saving, and closing out the game, things happen in the game while i'm gone? Since when??? :D I've always paused, so i had no idea bout that. Am i reading this correctly? Someone?? Lol.

Just use Master Contoller then make the npc active then you're done!

Here's a link to Nraas (Twallan) mods. You can get Master Controller there, and his Stpry Progression mod.

I don't think pausing the game before you save and quit would help anything. The game doesn't run while it's not running, lol, so not even EA's terrible story progression can be working in your game while it's not running.

You know, that scenario happened to me. I really got so mad when my sim male did that because I was trying to get him and my other sim female to get together and I was making progress. They had finally met and were starting to like each other and were getting to be best friends. She was still single and unattached but HE went and got married and to make it worse, they had a baby!!! Geez!! So... being the evil sim goddess that I am, I made HIS wife leave him and the baby. Aged her until she died. When he was over the mourning period, I moved my sim female in with him and baby and got them married fast.

I create my own sims and they're absolutely not allowed to marry NPC's so I had to do something. Also, since I don't use any mods, I had to be pretty brutal and not leave anything to chance. They're happy now... and have 3 more children.

^ You have seen quite much trouble :D

Time before Twallans story progression mod this was problem for me too. Luckily it is possibly just to ask some one to break up. When you got that sim who broke up with somebody in your household you can put your sim to ask one's ex to just be friends so the ex sign on the relationship panel goes away. After that you can act like nothing ever happend :heyhey:

I must recommend Twallan's Master Controller. It is the most necessary mod I have, along with Story Progression.

I always go with the shift-click option. When they're driving or in the tub or whatever:

"Object"

"Delete It"

"Haw-haw-haw, you no longer exist!"

~powertrip~

Now, whether or not they come back is an entirely different question.

For sims, they will come back. The only ways to completely killing a sim is to evict them and delete from clipboard. But if that sim is not even a PC, then you really need a mod like MasterController to "Totally Annihilate" them.

I have had problem with my butler when he went invisible and I can't fire him without clicking on him. "Invite over" doesn't help because he says he is at work (as a butler, on the same household). So I went through considerable length to get him out to fire him (involves tracking down his full name from different lists, and find ways to show his face). Your "Object > Delete" can easily bring you this problem.
