Is there any way to live...

Sorry if this question was asked already... just wondering if there is anyway (mods or otherwise) to be able to stay/live in another world like China Egypt etc... ?

I know you can "make Active" other sims.. but can I stay in that country for as long as I'd like or will it send me home no matter which sim family I am playing....

Any way around this?

I don't know of any exact way to do this. But there are mods that can alter the duration of vacations, so you can make them extremely long. When the "vacation" ends, you can send them on "vacation" again.

However, neither has been updated in awhile. Therefore, do back up the save game you will be using (or at least name it differently, making a new save) in case something goes wrong.

As far whether making the family of a vacation world active will let you stay forever, I doubt it. Why? Because those families were never meant to be active. There's no way to do so without cheats or mods. I suspect it's just the way the game was written.

I think there is a thread in the Create-a-World forum here that talks about exporting the vacation worlds and making them base neighborhoods. Not entirely sure if it was successful or not.

One of the drawbacks of most mods in regards to planting your sim in a vacation world is if you've got any kind of aging on, it doesn't take effect while 'on vacation'. Which makes the whole idea of just making one of the vacation worlds your base neighborhood a bit more appealing if you're running the game with aging.

I normally just take some time to do some adventures and get my visa up. Then I also get the lifetime reward that gets extra days to a trip for each family member who will be going and then I buy a vacation home! When it's time to go back, I simply use the testincheatsenabled true cheat and shift click my "vacation recovery" moodlet away so I can go back!

And Voila! You now live in Paris/China/Egypt!
