I've played the sims for a long time but never really got into challenges, always just playing the game for random fun rather than with a plan.
Recently I tried a few challenges on this board and enjoyed them, now I'm working on this one and thought I'd share it in case anyone else wants to try.

Summary
Build the ultimate mansion/castle for your generations of evil vampires to inhabit using fairly acquired money only & while thwarting the local vampire slayers.

Mod requirements

Twallan's story progression is required, the career one is optional.
Twallan's story progression personalities mod is needed, only the vampires vs slayers is needed the other mods are optional.
You must be able to kill other sims, I use "Vampire Killer Attack Interaction" by Enirei, but Twallan's carrer mod has vampire attacks for the assassination skill too.

Rules

No cheating beyond the initial setup. ("moveobjects" is ok, and "buydebug" may be used for decorative things like fog & tomb items, but nothing that would constitute cheating)
Any town is fine, including custom ones (I play in a late night version of sunset)
Any settings of immigration are fine, including increased npc vampire immigration (remember only evil vamps may join the house)
No use of scripts that effect aging, sim's must still age as EA default. you can not change life span to long, it must be the normal default.
No use of mods that allow vampires to day-walk, teleport, live forever or anything else different to the EA normal, beyond attacking/killing people.
All family members must not have any form of death protection from the personalities mod, slayers don't care who the vampire is :D
Never drink plasma juice (either no fridge or a mod to remove juice) Only feeding off sim's is permitted.
No non-vampire is allowed to enter the house and leave alive. Kill non-evil sims, kill or turn evil ones. (this also means no simbots)
No new CAS sims may be made after setup. new family members will have to be born or come from outside via romance.
Any outside sim romanced into the family must be "evil" and must be turned into a vampire before moving in.
Any child that grows up to become a full vampire without "evil" trait must be killed off before they weaken the bloodline.
No family member may have a career with set work hours, self employed, making & selling things and even moonlighting at bars are fine, but nothing with work hours.
No immortality rewards/no ambrosia/no Young Again potions, no age freeze, as the old vampires die you need new ones to keep it going.
Any family member who is arrested must be deleted instantly, the prison windows let in sunlight :D
Any family member who dies for any reason may not be turned into a playable ghost.
Urns of dead family members and murder victims must remain on the lot, build a graveyard or something to store them in.

Setup

Make 2 Sims, one male, one female adult ages. Traits must include evil, the rest is up to you, start them off as engaged or married.
Buy them a 64x64 empty plot, this is your mansion/castle in the making.
Turn both of them into vampires instantly (cheat or use Twallan's master controller)
Begin building with your terribly limited funds.

Goals

Build the most wonderful Vampire castle/mansion using only money your family acquires in game, over the course of generations.
See how many kills your family can rack up of Slayers and Helsing members
See how many Vampire converts you can make of evil sims in the town.
See how many dead family member ghost-vampires you can have on the lot (remember they cannot be playable ghosts)

Hope you have fun with this, its kept me going the last few days.
If you don't know Twallan's mods can be got from here http://www.the-isz.com/nraas/index.php (if its not ok to post links sorry delete it mods)

This challenge sounds amazing! I won't be able to play it though as I don't like downloading mods. Shame. Just wanted to tell you that it really is a good idea for a challenge and I hope others try it out.

Thank you, I'm having fun with it currently, got the outer wall and 1st few rooms of the castle done and just starting my 3rd generation, I'm finding it a good way to break being focused on single sims, (something I've always been) It gives you a larger project to focus on so you don't feel so bad when they die of old age.

Shame you don't like mods I wish there was a way to emulate this challenge without them, but Twallan's story progression is the only way to get slayers/helsing members in the town, if you ever change your mind they are not hard mods to setup, its all in game menu driven and they are very easy to remove afterwards.

Well I do have story progression/mastercontroller/etc. Its the personality mods I'm worried about since my legacy challenge (and story) are very vampire driven. Can't exactly have junior going off and killing grandma while I'm not looking, y'know?

The personalities mods are plugins to the story progression and driven by the same menus, you could turn off all personalities while its still paused from the Nraas>Story Progression menu, this way it wouldn't effect that game at all, alternatively you can leave it on and use Nraa Sim options to make certain sims or households immune to personality stories, so they still happen between npc's but never to those sims)
It also starts with push-death turned off by default so you have to enable it yourself before a slayer can kill a vamp.

have a read of the personalities topic on the Nraas site there's a lot more detail there than I could write in one post :) have fun.

I just started the challenge last night in Twinbrook. It's to bad i couldn't put a 64x64 plot in the marshy looking part of town away from everybody, would of looked awesome have a huge castle in that area. I made a small house for my vamps to live while I build the castle. I was thinking of keeping the small house as a servants quarters after i build up the castle more, but since there is to be no humans on the property I may make it a vampire guest house instead. I have the starting foundation for the castle up.

I was wondering if I could have my child/teen vamps(when I have some) write novels, paint etc. for money?

Any way you make money that doesn't involve a set time-shift job is fine :)

Awesome, Thanks.

I've made my male vampire a personal trainer(has no hours) using Twallan's Career mod. I thought Twinbrook would have more evil trait people than just the old couple, last name Racket. Only vamps in the town are my sims.

Seeing as how Twinbrook was created before Late Night brought vampires to the game, that would make sense. =)

You can always use Twallan's MC/Story Progression to make vampire immigrants and babies happen at a much higher rate, though I don't know if that would break any challenge rules.

I do have his mod, didn't know you could create vampire immigrants. The rules only state not to create vampires to put directly into the active lot. I hope it doesn't go against the rules, but I'll wait til it's confirmed whether or not it's against the rules. Something I'm curious about is why would Sunset Valley have vampires and not Twinbrook?

Narh its fine, I didn't state any limits on natural vamps in town, so you're free to set immigration how you like, not all vamps are evil after all, and only evil vamps are welcome to join the house :D

You want some npc vamps about for the vamps vs slayers stories to kick off :D

added a line about this to the first post, thanks for bringing it up.

Hope everyone's castle/mansions are going well :D

Finally found an evil sim besides the old couple, offered to turn and now I'm just waiting til he transforms into a vampire before I move him in of course.

I'm thinking of posting pictures of my progress on the castle(at the moment it looks more like a gothic mansion) and the family(s).

One or more mods are making my saved vampire game bounce and close the game, so I may need to start another game.....hope not...

EDIT: This happened after I put in Twallan's Career, and Story Progression mod.

Restarting for the third maybe fourth time.

EDIT:06.17.11- I've been testing different mods I have and saving by different names to see which mod it is. I believe it is Twallan's Career mod, since after I had my male vamp become a personal trainer with Twallan's mod.....every time I tried starting that saved file my game would bounce and crash.

I totally love the personality mod for the vamps & slavers, it's so entertaining reading about someone being chased and being attacked.I was wondering though...I thought the Helsing and Slayer personalities aren't suppose to like vamps and yett I just killed a Helsing that was indeed a vampire and she reduced to ash!?

Was wondering too, how can I get more evil people in my town?

MAYBE ITS NOT HER DAD!!! *insert soap opera dramatic music here*

Actually no, I've not had that problem before and I use all the mods listed (not doing the challenge but it sounds awesome!) Try rootin around in the SP/MC to see if anything is switched on by mistake, I'm not sure if those mods allow that sort of thing but its worth a good through lookie loo.

Yes, the Twallan mods (can't remember if it's general SP or if it's the Woohoo'er) will allow relations with family members...

Now THAT is a soap opera plot! =)

It's his WooHooer, but the thing is I didn't have that at the time and had to install it to make them "Just Friends".

Before I installed the Woohooer I was thinking of giving them the reward "No Jealousy".

My sim couple(Harlow & Vladamir) currently has 3 children Lillian(YA)-Married to Sinbad Rotter, Tamara(Teen) and Mason(Toddler). Is it normal for a vampire couple to always want to have kids even after they just had a baby(Mason)?(NOTE: neither sim has the family oriented trait) I've never had this happen before this challenge and they always want to woohoo which is kinda funny.

I loovve this! I have been playing for a couple hours

So far My first gen vamps (Morigan and Edward) have had 2 children (Martavius and Caress). Edward turned June Shallow into a vamp/and got her prego and hoping to use that family further as they are all evil:D

I have focused on charisma as Edward's main skill and I'm wondering if converting sims into vamps/ making friends, then moving them in, then killing them so my coven gets to keep all the funds...

Does this break any of the rules?

This seems to be the only way for Edward to earn money unles I work on another skill for him.

Also was just wondering what the point of the slayer etc personalities? I have killed a couple slayers so far and none of them even seem to notice my sim is a vamp. They will chat and be all friendly. Even let my vamps drink from them willingly and die very easily.

My vamps have 300,000+ on them by getting inheritances from their friends(gotta love the rich old people, lol)

Has far as moving vamp sims in and killing them soon after.....that's to me personally is stretching the rules a bit.

As for the personalities, the inactive sims do a lot to each other if you have the "show stories" thing set to "all" so you can see what everyone is up to. Lots of fighting going on in my game.

I'm always taking down walls and doing something new with my house when I'm bored with it.

Was wondering, the rule says no humans in the house but what if I turn a butler into a vamp, could I have one that way?

The cleaning is getting out of control with all the sims living in the house.

Good point! I'll go for inheritances and yah thats true. I asked someone to move in just to see how much I would get and it was a ridiculus amount lol. Would take away the challenge

BUT I did end up cheating 1 time...

Edward was hated by the entire Broke family except for Ruby, and Ruby is good friends with Edward's wife Morigan. Well Ruby knew about Edward's relations with June and so... she told Morigan! Edward swore he would exact revenge on the entire Broke family and so he devised the evilest of plans to wipe them all out in one foul swoop...

Edward invited Ruby out to the gym and they worked out for most of the day. As dusk approached Edward headed for the shower, but he didn't want to go alone...

Afterwards he told Ruby that she was his true undying love and that her family despised him, and that they were the reason they couldn't be together forever. He offered to turn her that night, and Ruby replied "Who in this world could ask me to resist?". As she grew feverish he talked fervently about how her family kept her from true happines, and that by convincing them to join his household her family's blood would free her of their hold. When the Broke's arrived they were greeted warmly, and the four vampires (Edward, Morigan, and theyre two children) had an all night feast:D

But there is one lone survivor a little girl named Dona Broke

I basically have all of Twallan's mods except a few career optional mods. The home school mod is helpful when you have a huge family. That is a career mod expansion I think.

Love the Assassin Skill Mod, it has a nice "drain" feature for you vampires, cops don't like it too much though...I basically have to "drain" the cop to before he/she has a chance to arrest my vampire. My oldest vampires have a high skill level in charisma and athletic, so I just use the "charm" and/or "attack" interaction from you mod.(or the "deadly" interactions if I want to kill the humans.

I'm really excited to start! Although I did accidentally cheat (kind of) in the beginning since I had an immortality mod... so I'll make sure to get rid of that for this.
Also just realized they are YA not adult... curse me for only skimming the rules before starting. Changes are afoot.

Names are hard to see, I know(Harlow and her husband Vladamir are on the couch, their teenage daughter Tamara is holder her brother Lucien to the left of them and their son Mason is in the middle, to the right are Lillian Petrovich Rotter and in her arm is Drakkar Petrovich and to her right is her husband Sinbad Rotter)

Harlow and Vlad yet again want to have another child......even with the little 2 or so day old baby they have.

started playing (no pictures yet) and i might alter it for them to keep plasma fruit on hand just in case of emergencies since it always seems that they want to feed in the middle of the night and i'm trying to not kill off *all* the locals. pregnant woman visited and they ended up kidnapping her (asked her to move in). the husband drained her dry right after she gave birth and i'm keeping her son to be a feeder. Once he gets older, he'll be locked up in the basement or something with just the necessities and be the vamps' blood bank when they can't get fresh victims.
