Graduation from boarding school

I sent my teen sims to the boarding school and got back aged up to young adult with the graduation clothing. In the lesson say there should be graduation ceremonies at city hall but instead they just came home. When I tried to find a party there's no graduation party also when I clicked city hall there's no graduation excecutable. Is it just me or there's no formal graduation? thanks.

Only when your sims graduate at the local school they have a formal graduation at the city hall the day after their birthday.
