Died on vacation?

I recently had the option to send my two adult sims, well one adult, one elder, on a free vacation. I've done this before and has kids throw parties and the whole nine yards, so this isn't some n00b who doesn't know how the game works. But this time was odd, it said my elder sim died and the game then sold her car automatically and when she came back with her lover, both of them alive and well by the way, all of their stuff from their inventories are gone. Normally wouldn't bug me, but she's a P.I, so that means her spy glass and finger print dusting kit is gone, which isn't exactly something i can just get back randomly like the car. Has anyone had this happen to them before? I just recently put in Twallan's story progression mod, and even though i've never had any issue with any of his mods before, and trust me, i use enough of them. I was wondering if it was possibly tied into the new story progression or if it's another one of Gen's fabulous glitches.

That is very odd. I don't know if it's a glitch with the mod or with the game, but someone earlier mentioned that they had parents who never returned from the vacation at all. I wonder if the two are related.

Well the game glitched out, so it's a moot point now, i'll just start from a previous save, but considering two days after the parents were home i got the notice that said 'your parents will be home in 2 hours, better clean up!' i'm lead to believe it was just Gen being lousy again.

Same thing happened to me! My sim was a firefighter and whilst she was on holiday, it said that her Woo Woo engine had been sold off due to death. Best thing was it was sold for a grand total of 0 Simoleons :rolleyes:. So not only do I lose a car that isn't buyable in buy mode but I also made no profit from it!
The adults came back from holiday 2 nights later as planned. None of them dead thankfully... :rolleyes:

You can buy the WooWoo 400 in buydebug mode (you have to do "testingcheatsenabled true" first). Go to the "sort by function" tab in buy mode, and there'll be a ? box in addition to the usual ones. Click on that one. The price on the fire engine, like everything you can't buy in-game, is 0. (That's why you didn't get anything for selling it.)
The spirit positioning device from the ghost hunter profession is there, too, as well as both portfolios (for architecture and fashion design). Unfortunately, there don't seem to be the items for the investigator profession. You might be able to quit the job, get the job again, and pull the progress bar up (with "testingcheatsenabled true") until you're back to the level you were at, but I've never tried this.

Well, I would try having her quit the job and then re-get the job. Since it's a profession, you can simply try the cheat 'testingcheatsenabled true', click the job experience bar, and just scroll it up untill you have your kits back and your right back where she started.

If that doesn't work, IDK what to tell you. SO good luck :)

Yep! I just tested it...it works! Yay, because I am in need of a new firefighter alarm. I lost the one my sim had.

Why Did They Sell My Car?

My Sim's car was sold due to Sim Death right when she got the opportunity to go on a free vacation and leave the teens alone. No one died in the household. I added her to Koffi Household because I wanted to live in a big house. Though, she did move in with the Single Moms Household but Gobias was still alive. I don't know why they sold my car, which by the way was his car, Lol.

The first glitch I encountered was when my Sim had arived home from France to find a duplicated of himself walking through the door about 5 sim-minutes later :wtf: Considering the fact that it was the first time my sim had travelled since installing the World Adventures Expansion, I found it quite weird because he was the only sim in the Household; I was tempted to force the Duplicate into CAS using TestingCheatsEnabled and give him the evil trait so that he would be an Evil clone of my sim :heyhey: But I just decided to delete him instead.
