View Full Version : AwesomeMod?

I know I'm probably posting this in the wrong place, but I have a hard time finding where to post things. So I'm really really sorry if this isn't supposed to be here, but I need help.

I just installed AwesomeMod yesterday and since I did, I've been having some lag and slowdowns in the game. Is AwesomeMod very resource heavy? Is there some way I can lift the load a bit? I really only got AwesomeMod for the slider hack that allows a bunch of sliders. I'd much rather have a dedicated mod for that but I can't find one that's up to date.

I tried registering and asking over on the AwesomeMod site but as you might know, and I just found out, it's not for the uninformed over there. So I brought my question to you guys who I know will be more open and willing to help.

It can make your game laggy, particularly if you, like me, just barely meet the graphics reqs for the game. What helped me was lowering any graphics settings I could bear to, along with merging all my cc into as few packages as possible. My game runs like new, now.

Oh yeah, I cannot begin to tell you how much of a different it made to merge my CC! Wow... so much easier to do any CAS stuff.

Are there options of AwesomeMod that you can turn off that make it less intensive? I don't suppose you know of a stand-alone slider limit increase? I tried to find the one by S3Z but the only one I found was out of date. =(

Your Master Controller allows more sliders, Twallan? But I was in my CAS creating a new sim and there were sliders that weren't making any changes at all. But I've had your MC for a month or two now. =( How many extra sliders does it allow? Do I need to change a setting somewhere?

And thank you, Twallan, for helping me here. I really appreciate it. You seem like a nice guy. =)

Were you actually able to register over there? I cannot get past the "you seem like a spammer" bs. >:(

Have you tried the online settings page for AM? I know htere are a lot of settings that are native and not changeable by non-coders like myself, but a lot of them are.

I have the same question, how many sliders does the MC allow? I don't know if I have too many or what, but not even with AM can I use them all. I would love it if MC had many extra sliders and I just have to set them up somewhere or something. I would remove AM completely. I am using the StoryProgression, the Overwatch, the Woohooer, the Animator and the MC. All I need is the sliders, something to remove the Eye Candy sparkle and I could just toss AM away. It's a pain to wait a month for a new AM every time a new SP or EP comes out. Not to mention the lagging thing, which I just found out. And of course, the inability to ask something there in fear of getting told where I can shove my questions.

Sorry to steal the thread, OP, but also wondering... can I just take out AM and be done with it? I'm always afraid to since they say your game will explode in BBFVS if you do that and continue playing games you saved with AM installed.

According to the other thread on AM vs Nraas on here, you can use the "uninstall" Console Command in AM to prep it for uninstallation, thus avoiding BBFVS.

Oh crap! I just removed it. I didn't know you had to do something special to uninstall it. I shoulda known but I didn't. Crap. Now what do I do? =(

Reinstall it and load your save. If you have master controller you can do a reset everything in preparation for uninstalling Awesome, or use Awesome's built in command for it.

Just cheat fixall and if you're really concerned, resetworld. (Although that last one is not recommended for everyday use)

Is the built-in command "uninstall" in the cheat code window? That's what someone over there told me but I don't really trust those people. There's a lot of drama and posturing and whatever else. I'm wondering if it's their version of the old "hit Alt-F4" trick.

Nonetheless, this is not the right forum to get AM support :)

Okay. Are there any forums on this site where I can get AM support? I mean unofficial, just from the people here? Because I tried going to the AM site and they're not being nice or helpful.

I'd be quite happy to repost this in the correct forum here if there is one?

You might want to read the notes for MasterController at the Nraas site. All the info is there in the first posts of the thread, you just have to take the time to look for it. For instance, under notes in the first post it tells you how many sliders it will allow.

I think they tend to discourage getting unofficial support here for other mods. I suppose you could go to the help forums.

I've never had a problem with AM being laggy, but everyone who uses it seems to get different results on different rigs. Whether it is resource heavy might depend on your specs.
