How do you uninstall Helper Monkey? I can't find it anywhere, but all my CC icons are monkeys. I recently uninstalled my game/EPs and reinstalled them so I had no Mod/Package files, etc. to delete, but when I tried to install my CC using the new method it didn't work. I assume it is because of HM, though I can't find it to delete/uninstall it.

Having the Helper Monkey installed won't matter regarding custom content not working. It should be uninstallable via Add/Remove Programs as anything would be, but again, it being installed isn't going to be your problem with CC not working.

Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files - easypeasy, just follow the instructions.

I checked there but I still can't find HM to delete it. Will try the method from the link though for my CC. Thanks!

Windows has left all my package icons as monkeys, too. The monkey is gone from my system, though. If I double click one, it asks me to specify what I want to open it with. I've stopped worrying about it, because the monkey is cute.

It's still there. When I double click one my computer asks for permission to allow 'InstallHelper.exe' to run. Then it says on the top 'TS3 Helper Monkey' and inside the window it says 'Could not find a valid directory to install to!' (When I reinstalled my game/EPs it no longer had the mods folder, etc. that was used for the old CC installations.)

If you want to remove the icon, use a registry cleaner like CCleaner. But having the icon there is not preventing the game to find and load the CC.

What are you double-clicking on? The .package file? Why? There's no need to do that.
"Installing" CC means to put the .package files in the /Mods/Packages folder, and you're done.

Yes, I can now use the new method for CC; that is not the problem. The problem is that I have limited space on my computer and want to remove every nonvital program I can. However, I can't remove HM no matter what I try. I can't even find it but I know it is still on my (rather old) computer, taking up space.

According to Ghost sdoj: The monkey is gone from my system, though. If I double click one, it asks me to specify what I want to open it with.

But I get different results that lead me to believe it is still installed on my computer. As for CCleaner, I used it three weeks ago at the recommendation of a computer tech. after a problem I had with a virus. Yet I still have the icons and a different result to Ghost sdoj when I double click on a .package file (as discribed in my last post).

What I need is a way to permanently remove the HM program (or whatever it is) from my computer.

You've uninstalled it via Control Panel?
Search for madscientist in Windows Explorer, to confirm.

So you are saying CCleaner didn't clear the icon? That's weird. You clicked on Registry to go into that Tab?

Now this is weird. When I changed my default program to S3PE and then back to the monkey, it let me. Now I'm getting the same result as Tierza. And there is nothing found in a search for Mad Scientist, MadScientist, mad scientist, madscientist, Mad Science, MadScience, mad science, madscience, monkey, Monkey, Install Helper, or Install Helper.exe... NOR is it in the registry or the list of uninstallable programs.

Apparently it wasn't gone, SimPE just put it to sleep for a while and now it's awake again.

It still isn't interfering with my CC being read, though.

Yes to all,ellacharm3d. The search turns up nothing. I don't have SimPE, Ghost sdoj, but other than that my situation appears to now be the same as yours.
