Celebrity Status Not Available anymore?

Now that I've installed Generations, I can't gain celebrity status anymore. The only town that really has celebrity is Bridgeport, like with Lola Belle and such. But any new family that is made or any families in other town no longer gain celebrity. As far as I know, I don't have any mods or anything, except for no mosiac when using the bathroom/shower. What do I do? I actually liked the celebrity.

I wish that were true for me! My sim in the Military career is a three-star celebrity while his stay-at-home gardener wife is a two-star. Sounds like a glitch or bug.

but do they get opportunities to up their status? also were they celebs before you installed Generations?

Yeah, I have one family where both the mother & father and one kid are 2-stars but all they ever did was deliver some veggies to a neighbor. They have never been to a club or hot spot, they only go to town to buy books and sell their garden produce or collectibles. I purposely have them "isolated" to keep to my intended storyline. Now I have paparazzi hanging out on the lawn, giggling & whooping all night long -- stooo-pid!

Yes, please specify. Do they get opportunities? Do you notice any change in the fame status bar? If there is movement after the opportunities, it might just be taking you some time to gain your celebrity points. Also, as a sidenote, there is a new Nomosaic mod for Generations ( here is a link, by velocitygrass: click! (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=444692)). Also, I am not so clear, are you in Bridgeport? In other worlds, it is more difficult to gain celebrity points.

no, i tested out Bridgeport to see if the celebrity status was on the sims that it was on before *like Lola Belle, her bf whose name escapes me, Lala Angelista, etc*, but i've been playing mostly in Pleasantview and Sunset Valley. I'm playing Brandi Broke right now *basically 3rd gen from Bob Newbie marrying Betty Simovitch* and I see random paparazzi like in front of rabbit hole buildings, but they never really take pics of the sims. it just says "Bob Smith, Paparazzi" when you hover over them and i didn't check to see if they have any interactions available because i usually don't spot them til before i leave. it just seems weird. usually the things that would automatically earn a sim celebrity status don't work at all now.

I thought it was just my game ... I haven't had any celebrities since Generations either. Still have paparazzi though and even an occasional limo zips by, but no celebrities or any celebrity opportunities.

They were created after the installation of Generations. And yes, they get opportunities to up their status. But as I don't want them to be celebrities in the first place, I find it highly annoying.
