Hi,

I recently got a new computer. I installed sims and had my back ups from the old computer. I copied the "Sims 2" folder from my old computer and pasted it in the new computer where Sims 2 is installed. (eg: my documents/EA GAMES/sims 2) I went in game and the 2 neighborhoods with my sims did not appear on the town select menu.

I have done this before and it worked perfect without any problem. I don't know what I'm doing wrong cuz I did everything that I did earlier. I went and checked my neighborhood folder a several times and everything is there perfectly. Just the 2 towns with my sims won't appear :( please help.

You were suppose to paste your The Sims 2 folder inside of C:Username(replace "Username" with the name of your Windows account)/My Documents/EA Games (or C:Username[same thing applies]/Documents/EA Games if you're using Windows 7) You most likely had corrupted your files. Unless you had backed up the folder beforehand, you may have to uninstall, then reinstall your game. After you're finishing doing that, then you can place your old saved data in the correct EA Games folder.

Shouldn't they be placed under MyDocuments/EA Games/Sims 2? I've never installed back up neighborhoods before but my neighborhood files and the like are all under My Documents. G'luck, I hope you figure it out. :)

Try deleting the neighbourhood manager file in the neighbourhoods folder. When you say back ups, do you mean the entire sims folder or just the neighbourhood (and Downloads) as back up folders? I always do the latter (in fact I save the individual neighbourhood folders rather than all the neighbourhoods folder). If you use the entire The Sims 2 folder, you are saving a lot of crap along with the saved games most of which you don't need and some of which may be corrupted.
