View Full Version : Body Shop creations can't be recategorized

I made an item in Body Shop for CF that I wanted to be unisex. It was meant to match something I had downloaded, so I moved the file from SavedSims to Downloads in order to keep them together. First I tried Wardrobe Wrangler, and when that didn't work, I figured it was just a problem with the program -- but when I opened it up in SimPE, the gender string was already 3. So apparently it was changed, but when I went into my game to try it out, it still didn't show up for CM. A similar thing happened with an outfit I had made for toddlers that I wanted to set as swimwear. It works just fine for anything I download; it's only what I create myself that fails to cooperate. I don't think this is a new issue, either; I can recall having this problem in the past without resolution. Any idea what's wrong?

Are you committing your changes before saving in SimPE? Are you sure Body Shop isn't sticking your new creation amongst the older creations/downloads? (This happens to me from time to time and it makes it difficult to find the new stuff.) Have you tried not moving the file from Saved Sims to Downloads to see if the same thing happens? If you're using non-Maxis meshes, are they also in the Downloads folder?

Those are the only things I can think of at the moment. Recategorizing should be very straightforward and shouldn't cause your clothes to disappear. In case you haven't seen it, here (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=138073) is a basic tutorial for recategorizing using SimPE.

Oh, they don't disappear -- they just don't appear in the categories/genders I couldn't select in Body Shop. When I loaded them up in SimPE, it showed me that the changes had already been made, so I didn't have to commit. I'll try moving them back to SavedSims for the moment though. (I generally move all my creations to Downloads simply because they're custom content and it feels odd to keep them separate just because I'm the one who made them.)

Oh, I see. I'm not sure why that should be happening with genders, but I don't think Body Shop will display anything in some of the categories that it doesn't recognize (such as swimwear for toddlers); you can still change the category numbers in SimPE and they should show up in CAS in the game. I went through something similar when I made swimwear for toddlers. I had to set the outfits as Everyday as well as Swimwear, or I couldn't get access to them in Body Shop once I'd changed the category in SimPE.

Yeah, I had to change the swimwear I was recoloring to everyday, but that worked just fine -- it was the recolor itself that I couldn't change. Turns out the problem really was the folder though. Not sure why that would be, but thanks.

It's likely you have duplicate copies of the file and the one you are making changes too isn't the one you are seeing in Bodyshop. I think SavedSims folder loads after Downloads, so look for a second copy there.
