View Full Version : Extreme Lagging Problem on Mac

I've tried literally everything to make my game faster, and it's not budging.

I have package files, sims3pack files, and custom worlds.

Before using sims3pack files and custom worlds, I had about 800+ package files, including awesomemod and the game was just fine.

Now that I started using sims3pack and custom world files also, it's so slow the loading screen to the neighborhood takes over an hour and a half, then when it saves, it takes even longer to close, or it just crashes.

So, I got rid of the majority of the sims3pack files, hoping for improvement, and got nothing.

Got rid of 500 package files (that I really wanted btw) and still no improvement.

Decided to completely get rid of the package files, and saw little improvement.

Got rid of the custom neighborhoods and added 300 package files and it got even worse.

I've checked all the package files, there's no corruption, sims 2 packs, nothing.

Like I said, I had 800+ package files and everything went in the crapper when I started using sims3pack files and custom neighborhood, even when I removed the neighborhoods and sims3pack files.

PLEASE HELP THE LAGGING IS MAKING ME WANNA RIP MY HAIR OUT and I can't go to MATY about this problem without getting bashed, and i'm in no mood.

Are these Sims3Packs from MATY? Why do you need to go there to ask about lagging problems, I mean?
If the lags appear only after installing Sims3Packs, then the conclusion is the Sims3Packs are the issue, no? Have you run them through CUSTARD before installing them, if you know how to use Mono, etc?

What OSX version? What gameversion?

Also, since this is not a Computer Tech but a Sims issue, thread moved. For future reference, please heed the Announcements, they are there for a reason, yanno. :)

The sims3packs are no longer in my game, and I'm still having issues, so the sims3packs are not the problem.

Sims 3 - Freezes and Lags
If you encounter any freezes or lags in gameplay, try the suggestions in Game Help:Intermittent Freezes.
If issue persists, please also answer the questionnaire in the Intermittent Freeze Sticky (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=425027)

Any of the lagging symptoms mentioned in the sticky, then?

Actually, I believe I fixed the problem last night. I took out all the package files, and put them in the packages folder individually, instead of in bulk, and I also think I had a few too many mods. I think they were conflicting. Because 1 hour+ loading time is just ridiculous, especially on a brand new computer.
