View Full Version : Sims won't eat at dinner table & can't sell crib

So, whenever my sim makes dinner and is eating it at the dinner table, the others won't join her at the dinner table but will eat on the couch in the livingroom or outside.

How do I fix this?

Sometimes the husband joins her so it's not blocked or anything
I just want them to eat breakfast/lunch/dinner and such at the dinner table

Even with the "Call Household to meal" directive?
Post a pic of the Dining area? The routing to the table and chairs are not blocked? Can they sit at the table if explicitly directed, on any and all the chairs?
Is this happening just in this Save or all Saves, and new games too?

It also depends on relationship and traits- I noticed a sim who loves the outdoors seems to choose the outside table, and her brother who is best friends with her will choose to sit next to her, instead of with his parents (who he has a red relationship with) at the diningroom table.

Yes, but that rarely works. I tried placing the foodbowl on the table twice and they'd each take a plate but only once they'd sit together at the table

They don't have any outdoor traits or something.

Even when I placed the dinner area at where the desk and my sim are, they still would eat at seperate places. So it's not blocked, I'm sure.

Tested with no clutter on the table? And their Hunger motives are low enough, at the same time?
I just dragged it down to very low (in the Reds with testingcheatsenabled) for my test family and they gather around the Dinner table well enough, albeit after some foot-tapping and routing issues, they eventually get there. In a large family, the first person to sit is usually done though, by the time the last one gets there.
Maybe, they are just not the "sit at table to dine together" kinda family? :)

And yes, I think traits and relationship levels also play a part, I noticed that too, in different families.
How high are the relationship levels of your victimsSims, @Emmyemmy?

Also I tried to sell my daughter's crib but it says something's in it so it can't be sold

Nothing there though, no dolls, no toys, nothing
Tried placing my daughter in and out of her crib but it didn't work

Can you Force Delete the crib with the debugenabler or testingcheats turned on? I forgot which one.

Hmm, I recall something about a missing imaginary friend doll regarding the stuck crib. Anyone remember details?

Maybe a toddler pulled the IF out of the crib by themselves and now has it in their inventory? The game still thinks it is also in the crib. At least I think that's what happened. I had this issue a few days ago when my sister was playing and her toddler pulled the thing right through the crib to play with it. Moving the sims out and back into the house solved it. :)
