:faceslap: So, as I found out about a month or so ago, the official Sims 2 website has been closed down for maintenence. Well, it's been a month, and something would've had to of come up, right? (Unless they were COMPLETELY remodeling the site.) I fear that it could be the end to the website all in all... Hopefully, that won't happen anytime soon. I mean, it's such a popular site and they make so much money off it. ANYWAY, does anyone TRULY have an idea of what's going on?
Sincerely,

If it is being remodeled, it's probably being done by one guy in the copy room on his lunch hour. I'm willing to bet it will be back advertising a TS2 complete collection while being functionally useless (no Store, BBS, etc.).

My favorite part of the official site was the downloads. I have a collection of Maxoidmonkey-made objects, and I like Maxoidmoonbelly's lots and Sims very much. A long time ago, for a couple of months, I downloaded a Sim every day, after coming home from school, from the featured section and played with it in Bodyshop. I enjoyed seeing how other people made their Sims and put together a whole bundle of CC to make the Sim look like a real character. In actual gameplay though, I play next to no custom content, besides Maxoidmonkey's stuff and my own. Now that the official site is down, I think I would have to look elsewhere for places to download and upload things.

I doubt they're re-modelling TS2 website... As far as they're aware, they don't make enough money to even have the store going anymore, so maybe they don't think hosting the site is worth it, now that they have TS3? It happened with TS1 website as well.
It could be they're merging the two together, though, who knows.
If I had to put money on it, they're saying sayonara and flipping the bird to all us Sims 2 players.

I'd say it's pretty much a for sure thing that the site is never coming back up. They removed The Sims 2 logo from the bottom of The Sims 3 site. That's definitely an indication that the site won't be around anymore.

You spelled website wrong. (I'm just having a bad day. Sorry, Insanity)
I know we have like three threads chock full of alien abductions, storming EA headquarter plots, government hide-ups and the whole shebang. You might want to check them out :)

Hmmm... I do like that idea. Hope the poor guy who got stuck with the remodeling is a.) A Sims 2 fan or b.) Doesn't have much to do besides *sarcastically* "redo" the site.

There stood something about the Sims 2 store no longer being available, and they send me to the TS3 site ..
