Hi! o/

I used to be able to record videos in HD directly from TS3 by editing the recording parameters in Sims3.ini. However, after I installed Generation and Town Life Stuff, the settings reverted to the game's default, no matter which quality setting I selected.

How do I rectify this?

I have the same problem. Before installing Generations I wasable to record in 720p, now it just records in 640x480.
The Generations directory doesn't have the "sims3.ini", don't know why.

Yeah, that's exactly my problem. :( I tried copying the sims3.ini file into the Generations and Town Life folders, but with no luck.

Hello,

I had the same problem after installing generations and again with pets. Solved it with copying the file Sims3.ini to the newest EP-folder structure and editing this file unter [VideoRecording] to
Small = 640, 0
Medium = 1024, 0
Large = 1280, 0

The Sims3.ini belongs in the newest ep folder - in my case
...Sims 3 Pets/Game/Bin/Sims3.ini

You find the file in the basegame folder at the same location.

As long as the second number is 0 the game matches the hight with the proportion of the window you are playing in... if I choose 4:3 in window mode, I'll get a 4:3-video/screenshot... if I play 16:9 the taken medias will have this proportions, too.

I use the ingame video capture tool at HD quility but there is alot of graphic mistakes on it like them decoming exentermely poor quiility in the game but that also happens when I am not filming. I do not think it has anything to do with the graphic card which is in the computer which means that is an inbulit game issue. :cry:

I was planing to use sims 3 for some of my films but now I cant't which is annoying as I want to see what you can do with sims 3 movie maker that EA have made.
