Wow. The first time I dealt with them I had to jump through hoops to find and install a windows hotfix to buy Broken Steel for Fallout 3. It was frustrating and hours were lost, my problem seemed resolved with the purchase.

Now, I've returned to them with the intention of buying The Pitt for Fallout 3. Again, the service is crappy. The purchase results in a baffling error, the system thinks that the same credit card I've used before is invalid, and it is unclear if another hotfix is needed since installing .net framework 4.0.

Looking for another place online where I can buy the non-steam version of The Pitt for Fallout 3.

I can't say that I blame you. I play FO3 independent of GFWL, but it could be a headache otherwise.

I felt the same way for the first few years of Steam because--well, the same reason, Steam was a memory-hungry pile of shit. Thankfully, got Steam better, but to this day I still vastly prefer starting a game, by itself, and playing it, by itself. I was able to do that with New Vegas for a few years, until Steam went "Yeahhhhh...no", patched it, and put an end to that.
