View Full Version : Weird "unsupported graphics card" issue out of nowhere!

I've been playing Sims Medieval in my computer since it came out, and now I'm a bit frustrated 'cause I'm running into a really weird problem. This issue came out of nowhere, and I haven't been able to locate the problem. After the loading screen, the game gives me the legendary message:

"Device 0 cannot run this title, no supported graphics card detected"

After this, it takes me to the main menu. I can then set up my graphic options manually, together with my audio and game settings. After closing the options dialog, the graphic options stay but audio and game settings are reset. If I ignore this and proceed to play, the game will stay indefinitely on the loading screen.

I've tried everything I could think of, from updating drivers to a fresh game install, and even formatting (related to some other issues). My system specs haven't changed since I started playing, I'm running the latest patch and all my drivers are up to date. I even tried using some old drivers that used to work just fine, and still nothing.

I should mention that I don't have this issue with The Sims 3, only Sims Medieval.

Any ideas ? Has anyone experience this problem before ? :help:

Here are my specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
RAM: 2,5 GB
GPU: nVidia GeForce 9500 GT

Thanks!

EDIT : I found the problem and the solution. The new patch released by EA was the issue, and I found a thread about it on a forum and the solution. It's a crack, so I can't really give out the link (site policies, I believe), but it fixes the problem. Thanks anyway! ;)

I've already searched and didn't find anything :(

I've tried to contact EA support but they creep me the hell out with all the apparently unrelated info they want from me. They're a couple of questions short of asking for my mom's birth certificate and my aunt's credit card number

Any other ideas ?
