Is the back too much? And if so, how should I do it? And what, short of entirely redoing the house one floor shorter, can I do about the ridiculously high chimney?

I'm not sure if there's anything you can do about the chimney, though you *might* be able to remove part of the stack with move objects only. I've done something like that a few times by accident/experiment, but I was never happy with the results. I don't remember if I had CFE on at the time.
I think the upper deck is a little much and as much as I love windows, I think there's a few too many in the front of the house. You might consider using a different wallpaper, it seems like its a bit much. The front deck seems dwarfed by the size of the house.

Just to clarify: The side with the chimney is the "front".

I'm curious what your vision for this is. Is it a residential; if so who lives there? It just looks a little massive to me. Most A-frames are smaller and more cozy.

Yeah, it is big. That's why it's called the "Capital A"-frame( Actually, I started with the name and went from there). It's meant for a Legacy or someone who doesn't have a problem using motherlode. I'm definitely going to do a smaller one, or maybe a cluster of smaller ones surrounding a fire pit as a WA base camp.

I think the back is too much with the wall texture, windows, and sheer size. Also I think you should split up the roof somehow!

I think that the front of the building looks a bit plain and chunky. I love the back of it though! Keep going
