Hello, i recently got a new laptop and it has windows 7, I would like to install mods like awesomemod and story progression onto my laptop to use with my game, but 1. I don't know where to put the mods to make it work and 2. There is no longer the installer monkey so I don't know what to use instead.
Also I have had to copy and paste the electronic arts folder into my documents folder as it didn't install into there straight away when i installed the game. I have put the resource.cfg in the mods/packages folder, and used winrar to extract the packages but they just aren't working, does this mean i will never be able to use mods with my game

Please Help!

You'd need to run the game once to get the folders in - delete whatever you'd put in yourself, and download the FrameworkSetup.zip provided here: Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files - extract it to the right place, and it'll all just work.

Thankyou, I have just ran the game once, and the only folder that is in my documents is the one i have already made.

What are the contents of that folder? Anything besides what you've added?

I have all the default folders, with all the programs that come in each folder, like the GameData, Bin, Caches etc. and I have added a mods folder but when i played the game once to check the speed, it hasn't created another folder.

Okay, well, it sounds like it created all the stuff it was meant to - it's just not reading your Mods folder. So go ahead and delete the Mods folder you made, download the FrameworkSetup.zip, and extract it where the FAQ tells you to, then load up the game to check whether it's working. If you extract it to the right place, you won't get the normal intro - it'll go straight to the loading screen.
