Hey, y'all. :( I am at my wit's end. I'm trying to build a lot with L-shaped stairs, but stupid me, I made the L shaped stairs flush against the side of the lot where I need a balcony. Hence have my troubles begun.... :faceslap:

The L-shaped stairs are fine, but it is the balcony that is now fudged up. The floor tiles right where the wall dips to create the L-shape dip as well and make the whole thing super ugly, and what I wanted to know was if there was some neat trick I could use to fix my lot so that the L-shape stairs remain as they are, but that the adjacent floor tiles are not affected, to make everything nice and neat. Because using the Level Terrain tool only forces all of the adjacent floor tiles to go up or down as well, and that's neither want I want nor need.

I might have to look for some fake floor tile decor objects and put them down if I can't figure out how to get my balcony set to rights, despite the L-shaped stairs effing up my floor tiles.

Moved to the Building forum in Create for more expertise :)

Unfortunately within the same level the border of adjacent tiles is always at the same height for both tiles. You can't have a jump in elevation within one level between squares.

I personally would either build the stairs so they don't touch that part of the external wall or I'd add a one tile thick hidden room to allow you to hide the difference in height.

I can't be much more helpful than that. I would love it if we could do what you're seeking to but the way the game works it just isn't feasible to have adjacent squares on different heights.

As Tee says, you always have to permit 1 tile for nothing important when you use cfe to changed levels like this. You can use it as 1 wall in a bathroom or something, providing you don't need to hang a mirror there. Then you may get into trouble again.

Darn. Double darn. :( Yeah, I realized too late that I should have never put those stairs flush against the external facade of the building...will go to the nearest Walmart and buy a rifle. :faceslap: :(

Thanks, everybody!
