This is my first post here so I don't really know everyone here yet, so hi!

I actually joined just a little while ago so I could down the weapons mod by Desecrate. In that same vein of thought, I think it'd be pretty epic if someone were to work on a mod to make the Sims more lifelike and just...crazy. The funnest part of the Sims for me is the storytelling, so just having basically 1-dimensional characters gets old after a while.

So I guess a basic list of things I was thinking of could be...
Violence (murder, suicide, maybe even rape), and attached to these things could be court cases. I guess it could expand the private investigator profession too and make it way more interesting, and based on the amount of evidence you find there could be a percent chance the jury will vote either way. (I think I watch too many Law and Order style tv shows, hahaha.)

But also with kids...why not have adoptions from your neighbors? Then, kids could have a biological mother and then an adopted mother. Maybe they don't know who their real mother is. Maybe they were switched at birth.

What about drug use? Maybe more realistic alcohol. Why not have members of the military track live in the barracks and get deployed? Maybe they sometimes don't come back. Have the politicians actually discuss political things--ranging from silly to serious. (If your new leader of the free world chooses, he can make everyone wear ridiculous hats, or maybe he actually makes a game-changing decision, like making drugs/alcohol illegal.) Have our sims vote for people. If you vote for a democrat (or equivalent in sim world) you pay more taxes, if you vote for a republican then there's no contraceptives.

What about introducing religion in some small way? That way we could actually build churches and you could have a career as a minister, and there would be new interactions like "debate religion" where people get angry at each other, or it could be a bonding point for people with similar religions.

Something else attached to this could be dialogues. Your sims talk but you never know what they're talking about except for the text bubbles. Sometimes they seem to have a topic but other times not. I think we could still have that kind of just general talking, but in certain situations we could have specific dialogue where your sims speak and you can choose a response and that will dictate the outcome. Like "say I love you for the first time" in a relationship, or "what was it like in the war?" for someone who comes back from deployment.

I dunno. What do you guys think? I'm really not adept enough at modding to get that kind of full-scale mod but I think it would be awesome. Do you guys even think it's possible, and if so is it in poor taste?

As far as custom careers go (especially the religious track you were explaining), there is already mods out there for that. HERE (http://www.the-isz.com/nraas/index.php?/topic/2033-the-careers-phase-nine-version-63-updated-2011-oct-18/) and HERE (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=428999&c=1&ht=0&page=1&pp=25), for example.

Violence and such would be interesting, but not something I particularly want in-game. But again, there are some mods that allow prostitution type careers and Dexter the bear allows murder. So there's *some* of that already, just not on a major injector mod type scale to my knowledge.

I also don't think this is the right section unless you are planning on creating the mod yourself and are asking for help with the process. HERE (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=392614) is a list of creators that take requests, but I believe you need to contact them privately if you're interested.

Good luck!
