CAW not opening

So CAW and pets 3 had the same compatibly numbers and I've tried to open CAW using run as administrator but nothing has work so far. Also if it helps I downloaded pets using a digital download but the registration code was for the cd version. I have the cd I just figured the digital download would save a lot of fights between my sister and I as well as I was kind of to lazy to pop in the cd

What happens when you try to load CAW? Does the startup screen flash on and off?
Have you had a message about CAW being out of date?
I tried CAW straight after installing Pets and turned out it wouldn't open. Simple answer was that I needed to download the update (why it doesn't auto-update like the actual Sims game I have no idea).
After installing the newest update it now works perfectly with Pets installed.

On a side-note, if you have an edited resource.cfg file allowing packages to be recognised in CAW, make sure you copy it somewhere else otherwise the CAW install will overwrite it and you'll lose access to unlocked objects (e.g DT for HS, new pets spawners etc). After install, add your copied resource.cfg file back to the CAW install folder and they'll carry on working.
I learnt the hard way what happens if you don't. Took between me and simsample aaaaages to figure out why cc wasn't showing up in my CAW :lol:

The startup screen flashes on and off then nothing, I wish I had a pop up then I could figure it out myself. Oh really ya I'm not alone :) so where do I find a pet updated version I tried googling it but got nothing. came up. Oh and when I checked the compatibility numbers the game version's number was different so I tried to copy and paste the pets gv and save but it wouldn't let me, can run as admin either. Oh gosh that must have been irritating :P Ya I've been kind of working on this world for a while now and when I went to install the base game someone told me I had to delete everything sims related which ment my world and mods felt like I was going to cry because I had been working forever on my world and I had a ton of mods.
