Removing all playables

I have meetme2theriver's Uberhood and I'd like to remove all playable sims from it so the houses are empty. I've searched all over and all I've found is the delete all sims cheat which I'm told can cause massive bug to your game? How can I wipe all the playable sims without causing problems?

That's right. deleteAllCharacters will corrupt your neighborhood. Don't use it.

I have been looking for a tutorial to remove all sims from a neighborhood for some time now, but I've never been able to find one. I assume that it involves using SimPE to delete all of the sim-related records from the neighborhood package, including the Sim Descriptions, Sim Relations, Family Information, Family Ties, Sim Wants and Fears, Sim DNA, etc. Of course, there are also records like Neighborhood Memories, which probably cannot be deleted but instead need to be modified to remove the memories array, and you'll need to reset the next sim index.

If you didn't have subhoods, I would recommend using the method that plasticbox documented in post #47 of her Elsewhere neighborhood (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?p=2128586#post2128586). This method basically involves creating a new neighborhood, then copying the neighborhood terrain and lots from your original hood to your new hood. However, that's going to be more difficult with a ton of subhoods.

Why not just download all of the empty neighborhood templates and then change most of them to subhoods and attach them all together yourself? You can download the empty templates from MATY (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=4306.0). Then, I can walk you through the steps which are necessary to convert a neighborhood template into a subhood template. After that, you can just use the normal in-game method to attach your subhoods to your primary neighborhood. This is probably the simplest solution, much better than trying to remove all characters from Tarlia's uberhood.

And, after all, that's basically what Tarlia did to create the uberhood in the first place.

Thank you! I suppose that does sound easier. I've never done any modding, don't use CC, and have only two hacks, so I know nearly nothing about this stuff.

Do you have any ideas where I can download the various empty neighborhoods, subhoods, and colleges?

DO NOT use the technique in the first post, it's clearly wrong. The technique in post #116 may or may not work. Be sure to backup your game first, since I can't guarantee anything. However, this may be the technique that was used to create the empty templates that are available for download.
