My mods aren't working!

I can't get any of the game mods I downloaded to work. Using Sims2Pack Clean Installer, the mods are all highlighted in red. I'm 99.9% sure that I installed them correctly (Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads)...am I forgetting something?? Some of them are mods I used before playing TS3 and I remember them working fine (like the sunbathe anywhere mod) but now they don't work at all...suggestions? Am I doomed to play in a mod-less game? :P

Did you remember to enable custom content, close the game, and get back in? 'Cause that's the sort of thing that would trip me up if I'd been away from the game for awhile.
