View Full Version : Why does my cat keep teleporting?

This keeps happening, no matter which family I'm playing. I play my sims for a while, go to check on the cat (or worse, notice something's in the red), just to find them in some random, not-normally-reachable place that I have to use cheats to free them from.
In one family, the cat kept somehow getting behind a hidden openable wall (from World Adventures, but in the house.)
In another, the cat kept somehow getting to an area that had a pool entirely enclosing it.
And now, well...
Yeah. The cat was "sniffing around"... in the ocean... next to... a sim's body?!
Anyway, I'm sick of this glitch. I'm so tired of having to cheat to get these stupid cats out of really awkward places. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone else know what I can do?

When cats play in a bathtub that hasn't been fixed for Pets, they will teleport. CC bathtubs from before Pets, and some Store tubs will do this. You can either fix them, or get the mod that stop cats from playing in any bathtubs.

But that doesn't make any sense. I rarely ever put bathtubs in my houses, since I have little patience for baths. There has to be another reason.

What I would like to know is how to get the sim head-bobbing in the water? Any way to duplicate this? lol.
Are you playing in Appaloosa Plains, or somewhere else? I've found AP to be completely glitchy, 10 times more so than Bridgeport, for example. Sims getting stuck everywhere, taxis and cars getting stuck; my own horse getting stuck on my active lot, which is more or less impossible. (And yes, I have tried the AP Routing Fix .world files which have been created.) I have also seen horses glitch-teleported a few times for no apparent reason that I can find. So I've given up on AP, moved my sim family to a different world.

Nope, the world this picture came from is a custom one of mine. I don't like playing pre-made sims much, and the times I've tried to take an EA world and delete every family ended in the game crashing before I could finish. So I stick to custom/my own worlds usually.

Appaloosa Plains have a ton of routing bugs which can cause lag and spontaneous teleportation. There is a fixed copy on this website.

Yep! My sim got caught from curfew and then he got stuck in the police car.. :/ and he was usually the only sim I used so I had to make another game :(

My sims were woohooing and then right when they were about to go to sleep they got teleported outside their lot?!

Would the person who clicked "disagree" sneezefever's post that her sims teleported during a woohoo explain their disagreement?? ;)
I've had all kinds of weird sh*t happen since Pets came out. I've had two beds, supposedly "fixed for Pets" where the couple woohooed lying across the bed, rather than from the head to the bottom of the bed. Feel free to disagree, but I was there and saw it. BTW, and this was the really the part that got my attention was that on one of the bed's they also were draped across head to foot, not head to head, and I'm not joking. :wtf:
I would have grabbed a screenshot, but was honestly too surprised to move a finger.

My guess would be that whoever "fixed" them for pets... fixed them wrong ;) I would contact the CC maker with your pics.

Well, I was interested in seeing the fixed version of Appaloosa Plains on MTS, but after some rigorous searching with various spellings, I have come to believe it's not here. Are you sure, Game90, that you meant mod the sims?
