After playing Late Night for some time, having Generations but never installing it, then uninstalling all and coming back to Sims 3 recently, I have never been through such a rigamarole with a game.

With Generations installed, I got a weird World Adventures update error from the Crash Log Analyzer every single time I tried to load a World - any World - including those I had played before Generations. Even Twinbrooks, Bridgeport, custom or not, you name it. Game loaded easily and quickly otherwise. Combed through every mod and bit of CC. No comprende.

Read dozens of EA Mr. Magoo fixes, none of which worked - DEP, the whole nine yards. Finally, on a cheats/hacker site, the only fix that worked: uninstall everything, then Base, then Generations, no patches, then the other EP's and SP's, and then let Launcher fill in the patches in between.

Is the EA rush to get something, anything out so incomprehensibly inane that their own work breaks significant functionality of previous work, with no real notion of how to fix it?

The stability of the Sims 3 series is miles ahead of Sims 2, but OMG have they gotten worse in tripping over their own feet! Even when my fav mods are updated to 1.29 I will have to stop and think before installing Pets. At this rate, there is no telling what a hassle it will be by the time Sims 3 gets to the depth of EP's/SP's Sims 2 has.

So, if you're tearing out your Generations hair, ignore the EA installation order and try the above method - it worked for me!

Hmm, I installed it Main->Ambitions->Late Night->Generations->World Adventures->Pets and I haven't had any crashes or problems. The only problem was on my end, since I was using the wrong, unupdated no mosaic mod which caused all the speech bubbles to go wonky.
