Hello All. I've been playing The Sims series since the very first game. I purchased new and own every single Sims game, expansion, and stuff pack.
I quit playing right after Outdoor Living Stuff came out. When I quit everything was running great. I have zero custom content and had all of my store items installed.
When I decided last week I wanted to resume playing The Sims 3 I went out and purchased Generations, Town Life, and Pets. After installing them and updating them I found every time I tried to use build mode or create-a-style my CPU usage would reach 100% and my game would slow to an unplayable crawl. I'm not sure why this is happening and would love some help. I've exhausted everything I could find on Google.
I've tried reinstalling the entire series, using no store content, reformatting my entire computer, and making sure my drivers are all up to date.
Here are my system specs.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 4.5ghz
Mushkin DDR2 Ram 8Gigabytes
EVGA Nvidia GTX 275 SC (3 Way SLi)
EVGA 780i FTW Motherboard
Mushkin Callisto Delux SSD 120gigs (2 60gb drives in raid 0)
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate fully updated.
