View Full Version : Charlotte Gainsbourg -Advancement!

Hey guys! I started working on a Charlotte Gainsbourg sim because I just saw 'Antichrist' and fell in love with her 'Stage Whisper' album she did with Beck. Anyway, I think she has such a beautiful face, wise and knowing. Of course, the one person I try to sim looks different in every picture of her and surprisingly, there are very little suitable hairs. (FYI, the hair in the comparison pic is clearly just a pragmatic choice.) Anyway, what do you think I should do with her? Any hairs you think would suit her? Something loose and wispy with a hint of bangs. There's a lot of work to be done! :giggler:

We're here to discuss Alan-Gast sim.
I see her face is too square. She should be sligthly wider by the ears compared to the cheakbones? Another thing is the eyes. They need to be much wider and the eyelids have to be a bit closer to the middle.
Those eyes really tell a story, important feature to get.

@Volvenom I know! Her eyes are totally bugging me, and they're really all or nothing for getting a likeness.
And @SocialSim, sorry about the misunderstanding! She isn't ready yet, she's just in the process of being tweaked right now. :)

Thanks for your comment on my India Eisley sim and for the feedback on Chad Murray.
I have that hair and it is also way up his forehead. I think he is going to have to sport a slight spiky fringe because I know from moving up faces, it distorts the features and it took me soooo long to get them right.
Okay, your sim. Firstlly, I would choose another EA preset eye, the last two which have straight bottom lids. To be continued in next post as I can't see your sim right now.

Nose needs to be slightly less defined and bridge slightly wider.
Eyes need to be sadder, that is quite turned down at the corners.
Face shape, mouth fine.
I'll have a look for some hair while I am looking for CMM's hair.

I think you should work more on her eyebrows, I think they should be more thick, try to use other ones who are not becoming thinner toward the end, and I also agree about the eyes try to use different eyes who give a longer look . the eyebrows also needs to rotate down towards the end of them .For jaw slightly Round her and less triple.

Hey guys - thanks sooo much for all of your helpful posts! Here's an update of her with some quick tweaks - big thanks to SocialSim for the eyebrows tip, as well as the skin tip - I'll definitively try them out soon when I have more time. :)
I tweaked her eyes mostly here. It's hard to achieve the eye look she has, but I'm determined to finish her! Please note, her eyebrows aren't correctly arched and other stuff like that and this is because I just booted up my game for about 10 mins an will have better tweaks soon. ;)
So, what are your ideas?

The nose needs to be wider in general, so I'd suggest increasing scale, then decreasing height. You have the nose shape perfect!
You have the lip shape pretty close, but I think it needs to be a bit wider, and both lips thicker slightly.
Get the iris size slider and make them smaller. The shape of the eye that you are strying to achieve is a straight lower lid and an almond shaped upper lid. The apex for the upper lip should be sitting somewhere in the middle. I think her eyes are feeling a little small, but that could just be her irises that are taking up a lot of space. Can we see her eyes without makeup? In the reference photo, her eye makeup is quite light and it makes it harder for us to compare the shapes when the darkness obscures it.

Hey guys - I did a few more quick tweaks. I added Arisuka's nose definer and tired eyes because Charlotte really has that 'look'. I changed the contacts to Flajko's after deciding Shady's irises were a bit too large. I think the nose looks great now, thanks for the idea MzzUnvrz! Anyway, what else do I need to work on? I need to work on her eyes more, but not sure what to do first! Any tips? (She looks pretty haggard in this next pic, so beware! ;) )

Hey guys - I did some more tweaking on her and feel like I've advanced somewhat. I think these small & quick tweaks are really making a difference! :) Also, due to my fantastic editing, the sim is slightly bigger than the comp shot so her features probably will look larger than life! I'll fix the above lip cleft distortion in the next update. Also, me needs purdy hayurrr! :faceslap:

I will reduce the head size a bit , and also the head shape her forehead too long compering her chin -other than that perfect.

I would say you need the sliders which enable you to play with the size of her iris and pupils. If you look on my India Eisley sim, the sliders are by aWT.
Also look at the distance between her ears and where her jaw begins to turn to the chin, it is very long in the RP, you need to use a jaw/face slider to fix that, not sure which.
She is not sad enough looking.

Her ears need to be sticking out more. Use the ear rotaton slider.
It looks like her eyes need to be higher, to be sitting at the highest point of her ears, but the distances between her eyes, nose and mouth are spot on already. I think you should try to bring her eyes up by themselves just a litte, then also the rest of the face. You will have to adjust the jaw height and possibly chin height to compensate for the move. If it turns out fugly, just cancel :S

her under chin line is sticking out , see if you can bring it out more without it looking to weird :)
