Hi folks,

This has nothing to do with the CC being borked after pets, I already fixed most things including the beds but I have a different problem.

I was stupid enough to forget to remove my cc before i downloaded and patched pets. And afterwards I found out that the patches have corrupted one of my merged object files, but the strange thing is that all those objects are still working in game, all stuck in there and I CAN use them even if I remove the corrupted merge from my mods. Nothing changes in game, all the objects are still there. Let me explain something first. Well I found a way how to (Pets) fix merged objects but it's a tedious and long process but I'll explain the most important :

- I went into the game and made a list of all beds that were broken by testing them with sims
- I open 2 windows of s3Pe
- I look at my list and in one window I "open" in s3Pe and search in my unmerged objects for the name of the file corresponding to the name of the bed I wrote down
- after finding it, switch to the other empty window (I keep them both open for all the beds, obviously. i know i know i m not good with techinical stuff so excuse me if all this is too silly for your tastes XD)
- then I start with for example deleting the RIG as mentioned here correcting beds for pets (http://sims3.the-prof.net/forums/index.php?topic=1472.0) I do that by copying the resource details of the RIG from the separate bed file to the other empty window's filter and then I set it. After that I open each package of my merged object till the corresponding RIG appears and then I delete...and so on for the rest.

This would have been pretty handy for me (since I have too many objects to re-merge) if the game had't screwed up one of my merged packages. Now the problem there was that the corrupt merge could not read, it's like it's empty to the game and for my little procedure. Well I can open the corrupt merge in s3Pe but I can't find the remaining beds in it because I have 3 beds that I couldnt find in any other merge, which means they must be in the corrupt merge. But while the merged package is not being read by the game, it however has the beds (and objects) stuck in it and still corrupted by PETS as I mentioned before.

The TXTC files are the ones which are corrupted (according to Dashboard). So I'm asking, since I don't know much about technical stuff, is it OK to delete TXTC files? Do they contain info that is necessary? Because when I removed all of them from the corrupt merge, Dashboard read it as fine, obviously lol sorry. So may I remove them?

:!: :!: :!: [Update] Please do not be rude like the person who clicks the disagree button (I don't know for which reason), I am only looking for help and english is not my first language so please bear with me.

You deleted the _RIGs without updating the VPXYs and RSLTs?

The simplest solution regarding your broken merged package is probably to remerge it from the original objects, after updating them to work with 1.29/Pets.

thanks for your reply! :lovestruc

Oh I also edit the rest of course, I was just fiving an example. I can't merge my objects right now as updating the beds was too stressing already (I really have a lot of cc) so I will do that when I fall tired of my current families and start anew. Right now the game seems to be working fine anyways. I just thought I might be able to fix it that's all. But actually could you please tell me if it's ok to delete TXTC files?

Probably not a good idea. Does Dashboard's TXTC fix not work for those files?

The solution was already provided in post#2.
And yes - sorry to say that you have to redo your merging of packages - with redownloaded / fixed items this time.

The way you went about it as stated above is not the correct method and as you have realized, bork things all to hell and back. Sorry. :(

Excuse me, I guess I shouldn't have written so much, it's pretty confusing I can understand. I did manage to succesfully update all cc and most beds, and I did update the VPXY and RSLT before deleting the rigs. In short I did everything I'm supposed to do. What I was explaining is how I managed to update the beds inside a merged package which others say is impossible but it was possible for me. I thought it could be of some help to someone who for example doesn't have the patience to remerge all their cc because it's too much like mine, I was just trying to help. I'm not the one who borked my merge, the installation and patching of pets did because while I was doing that, I forgot to take out my mods and putt them in a safe place, then return them after patching. I always do it but this time I forgot. If it can't be fixed then that's too bad, I guess I lose that merge, I'll just have to go hunt for other objects. Thank very much for your reply.

I tried fixing it but it doesnt work, it still shows up as corrupted. Do you think I can remove the TXTC files, or are they necessary for the design of the objects?
