Sims 3 freezing

I have lowest graphics settings, tried deleting cache files and making a back up folder, and only have the 'saves' folder copied across. I can play fine, except it freezes every few seconds, then runs again. Anyone know why/what I can do?

What are your system specs? Do you have much CC?
