I was trying to do the "new" way of manually getting my computer prepared for CC and I had to download "Framework4.zip" (something like that) so that way I would get the "Override" folder and the "nointro" and "nosparkle" packages. When I was done with the process, I wanted to test out my game to check if it would work.

The message:

There was an error during startup. Please see the log for more info"

Popped up and I've only received that message after I updated my game to 1.29 (incompatible 0.0.0.0) five months ago and since then, I haven't touched that update. Each of my games (base game- 1.17, am- 4.17 (something like that), ln- 6.0.82) have been up-to-date, so that isn't the problem.

It seems like when I download Framework4.zip, it corrupts my game and stops me from playing. I've even done the workarounds (didn't work) and reinstalled each one (work).

So, what I NEED to know is: What is going on? Should I not install Framework4.zip? Am I just not able to install CC? WILL I EVER BE ABLE TO INSTALL CC?!?!? :(

Win7 and play on LN

Sims 3 - Game Problems
Please go through this FAQ and follow the instructions, doing each step in order and not skipping anything:

Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problem
Most issues with the game can be resolved by following those steps.

If base game was at 1.17, the game has not been up-to-date for a whole year++. Game Help:Patch_Table
Patch 1.29 five months ago? That patch came out in Dec 2011. I'm sorry if I misunderstood.

Where did you download that .zip from? I don't think that is MTS's version, is it? Filename is different.
Have you tried the framework setup files from our Wiki page - Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Setup and Files

Did you try the suggestion in the sticky - Sims 3 forever CRASHING when loading. Sometimes the lock on files that were in use is not released when the application quits unexpectedly and subsequent attempts would always crash again and the cycle continues.

If you had not done so, perhaps installing the CC Framework in clean user files also helps. Do step#3 of the Game Problem FAQ.
