Here's a photo of the issue:

Basically the heads look shadowed and missing texture. I noticed it happens when a Sim leaves the lot to go to a community lot. It occurs on the community lot and when I return to the house all the Sims have the issue. This has happened to me a number of times and I found the only solution is to move out of the lot and bulldoze. That doesn't even work every time. I'm playing a legacy lot that I've been blogging so I don't want to have to do that-- does anyone know of a fix? Sometimes if the Sim ages the new head won't be corrupted.

If I continue to play like that, sometimes the image of the Sim on the status bar will get corrupted too. Also the image of the family on the lot loading screen.

For reference, I'm playing all the EP up to BV and I am using Mac OS X 10.5.8. My graphics card is the one that came with the laptop, GMA X3100. I have custom content and my load time is currently about 7 minutes from start up to entering the lot. I experience a bit of lag when there are a lot of Sims but aside from this graphics issue I'd consider it to be normal.

This happened before I downloaded any mods. I am currently using some choice ones from MATY, FF, 2Jeffs, etc. Nothing unusual.

I hope you guys can help me! Thanks in advance.

Next test would be to drag your Documents\ EA Games\ The Sims 2 folder to the desktop, and run the game so that it creates a new one. Go into a neighbourhood and play one of the Maxis sims and take him to a community lot. Does the problem still occur?

After you tried that test you can then delete the newly created Sims 2 folder and put the one on your desktop back.

Ok I did that and I didn't have the issue with a new game. Should I go through the 50/50 method? Seems like it will take forever.
