I have the original sims game (sims 1) and I downloaded a bad CC house into it. When I reinstall it, it still crashes. I removed all the files for it, and it still crashed. So I removed the registry value for it (while it was uninstalled) but it still won't work. I'm basically out of options, so what can I do?

Does it give you an error message when it crashed?

If you are on Windows Vista or Windows 7 and you installed to Program Files, you may want to clear your virtual store in case the house is cached there.

How do I do that? I have Windows 7.

You need to have hidden files and folders enabled, then browse to:

C:\Users \<Username> \AppData \Local \VirtualStore \Program Files (x86) \Maxis\ The Sims

And remove anything in there.

To prevent UAC Virtualization from occurring, just install the game to a non-system folder, for example C:\ Games instead of the Program Files folders.

Didn't work. Thanks for your help, but I've pretty much given up on this game.
