Hi!
So I wanted a better way to organize my CC BUT I (obviously) have a mac. So I stole my sister's really old computer (pc) and downloaded CC Magic. I moved my CC over and such, but now I'm a little stuck trying to move it back in the organized .package files and have it show up.

Grant has been really really helpful on the CC Magic forums but he doesn't have a mac, so he can't really tell me exactly how to fix this. He suggested MTS so I thought I'd at least ask...

Basically, the package files that I put into my mods folder directly work fine. These are mostly mods (redundant, but I mean things like nointro) but the 1 or 2 objects I have in there work fine as well. I'm pretty sure this means that some of the resource.cfg file(s) are working because otherwise nothing would show up.

The CC Magic setup has 2 resource.cfg files. The first is in the normal documents mod folder, and is completely like the normal file except it has this at the top:

Scan "D:/Local Data/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Cache/Config"

That (the Config folder) is where the 2nd resource file is. It just has

Scan "D:/Local Data/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Cache/Sets/Setname" for any different sets (the merged package files of the content.

I've tried changing the "D:/Local Data" part of both of these to ""/Users/myusername/Documents" but the content still isn't showing up. I'm not sure if this just means I have the path wrong?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

(the CC Magic forums are here (http://sims3.the-prof.net/forums/index.php/board,9.0.html) if anyone wants to see more info on the program setup. And thank you for reading!)

It is going to take me sometime to experiment with this. I'm redoing my Lion partition.
Just wondering if you've tried CC Magic on Mac with Mono? If the issue would still be Windows vs OSX path naming...?

When you use CC Magic to install your CC, this includes user-made Sims3Packs?
And have these same Sims3Packs been uninstalled from Launcher in Mac, if they were installed before?
Also, when you transferred the Mods folder over from PC to Mac, you removed the existing one first on the Mac, or are they now merged?

After reading your thread @Granthes' site, is the issue now just contents of resource.cfg?
Because of this path issue, the contents don't show up, and what content-type are these? In any Catalog - CAS/Buy/Build, in both .Sims3Pack and .package format?

I have not tried with mono- I looked at it but I couldn't really understand how it worked!!

I've put user sims3packs in CC magic- before that, they were installed in my game (I uninstalled the content before transferring it). All my content is in the new Mods folder ( the one made by CC magic) which I used to replace the old one.

None of the custom content that I have put into cc magic shows up. Grant thought it was just the path because my mods (inserted the normal way) showed up okay.

I changed the path, and it didn't work either.
Might be the "Scan" command works only if the game is started via CC Magic directly. So, if it is not, the line and the CCMagic-installed CC are not recognized.

Quick and dirty workaround is to reuse the Mods folder and CC Framework setup you had previously, and copy the contents of the Mods folder from the PC to the Mac.
So, what I did was to cut and paste the Sets folder under [EA/TS3 folder from PC]/Mods/Cache and paste it under [EA/TS3 folder on Mac]/Mods/Packages, and then I renamed it to CCMagic Sets, so I'd remember where and how I installed those. If Sets is the folder you've setup for that configuration, of course. And you're free to rename it to any folder you like or retain it as Sets, if you want, as long as you don't have a previous folder already called that /Mods/Packages/ in Mac.

All other CC Magic features (like Collections and Configurations) won't be in use.
If you did set up Collections with CC Magic, copy+paste them as appropriate.

Okay- I can try that! Should I keep the special resource.cfg files or not? And thank you!!!
