View Full Version : Problem with walking action (Pets)

Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone ever had the same problem as me:

I installed the Sims 3 pets expansion and soon i started having trouble, you see whenever a stray or wild pet comes into my house lot the square grid on the floor where it stands becomes unable to have interations with, meaning no other sim can stand there nor can i put objects on it anymore, the stray pet then can't stay on that part of the grid and moves to another square with the same result, "infecting" the area so all the garden grid becomes unable to be walked, my sims then can't enter their house through the normal route nor huan sims nor pet sims, also they can't go anywhere near the stray to shoo it.

This has become unbearable cause I have reinstalled my sims and deleted all my mods and CC yet this bug keeps happening. I don't know how to stop it, the only way to be able to construct again where the stray stood its to demolish the lot and re-build everything again, the only partial solution I have while playing its to put the pet gnomes to not allow strays nor wild animals near the border of my property, that way the stray doesn't stay long enough to "corrupt" the grid.

But I'm getting tired of it cause i manage many families while i play so i can't be always checking for gnomes to be activated and also my sisters also play on the same world and they forget to put the gnomes and we're rebuilding only to end up with another stray right after and screwing the grid again.


If anyone could help me with this I'm getting hopeless I'll add a few screenshots on the next post so you can see what happens

This is where the stray first stood, then he steped on the next two squares until I used the moveobjects on cheat to delete it from my property, now as you can see I can't even place the mailbox where it was, so I click undo

Then we see how another sim tries to interact with the mailbox he can't stand in front of it due to the bad square and makes signals as if something was obstructing the way however i cannot destroy it with the hammer nor can i see it with the testing cheats enabled

This screenshots have only a little bit of CC and mods but none of the relate to the pets
I'm using patch 1.29
anyone has an idea of what happens to my game?

Well, the first thing to do is take out all your mods and CC, and try this out in a new save. If it is a mod at fault, then it won't be a mod that relates to pets - it'll probably be a mod from before pets even existed, which is why it doesn't take pets into account in the way it works, thereby causing problems.
