So I was playing a Sims 3 Pets family called the Riffins. And a meteor hit my lawn! Everyone who was outside got singed. It is cool when the rock comes down and I got a bunch of meteor rocks. What I think was more upsetting was the amount of damage the fires caused. They were all around a POND! And most of my furniture outside needs to be replaced. I just started playing the Riffins. Their parents are dead and it's one adult, two kids, and $800 dollars in their bank account. It was kind of sad out of all my families the Riffins got hit; they are so bad off. So my main reason for posting is I want to know if other people have been hit by meteors and their stories behind them. I know it's a random event but I would love to hear the stories, also if any alien events happen afterwards.

Meteors that hit and kill Sims came with Ambitions. I have a mod to stop them from hitting in my game, but other members of this forum can tell you about them.

Oh I don't want the meteors to stop, I think it's kind of cool they happen. Kind of like the alien abductions in Sims 2. XD

I saw the meteor(s) hit twice. The first time my Sim was painting outside her house; she managed to escape, even taking her easel with her, and the hole ended exactly at the corner of the house. So no damage done and a nice sum of money for her, very welcome at the time.
The second time was a real meteor shower, quite spectacular, those things falling and exploding everywhere - a real Armageddon. That was not a feature; it was caused by something faulty. (A bad mod? I forgot.) Anyway, after I made sure that all my Sims were OK I saved and closed the game, managed to find out what the problem was, corrected it, fired the game once more and sent my Sims to collect the rocks. They became rather rich after that.

This is not exactly meteors, but a lack of them. I made a genius sim, who was also unlucky. I decided (cruel taskmaster that I am) that I wanted to see a meteor, so I had her watch the sky through her telescope, all night long. I tried each of the different options. You'd think that, because she was unlucky, and was very good at looking through a telescope for hours on end, that she would get hit, and boom, no more scientist lady. Oh no. She lived. Then she saved a guy from starving to death and I deleted the game. I was disappointing, to say the least.

I was playing the Goths and teenage Mortimer went to school when the meteor hit. He was killed along with 4 other male Sims. 5 female Sims (including Bella's mom) were scorched, but not killed. Sims were screaming outside the school and the Grim Reaper came to 'take' all the dead Sims. Remnants of the meteor could be seen all around the school and a giant piece could be seen through the back door. It was very random and very unexpected. I wish it would happen again!!!

My sister and I made an evil triated sim after I got ambitions. She was the only sim in the family and we had her go to the park to meet some other sims and a pop up came up that said everything was getting dark and then all of a sudden a metoer hit her and she turned into a ghost. I had to exit without saving because I had just started playing. But it was so random because she just went to the park and it hit and it was even a new game. Since then, no other meteors have hit.

Ah, man, meteors are always a nightmare when they hit the school. So many "victims" on the lot.

Finally got one while in Lunar Lakes. Not much damage, a few singed Simmies and a handful of space rocks.

Once a meteor hit my garden, destroyed every single plant... I was mad as hell lol. I had every type of plant in there, and day before I've sold all my products so I had to collect everything from a scratch. Apart from that I think meteors are interesting addition to game ;)

I had my first meteor strike just a week ago. I was playing my legacy family and the meteor hit the school while 3 teens and one child from the family were all in class. They all perished. There was one surviving toddler, who was at home at the time. The family has just started to recover and have had another baby. The heir and heiress recovered the tombstones from the school and have moved them to a memorial area in the backyard. Yes, it's true you can still see a large meteor rock through the school doors. It was so tragic, but a great twist in my legacy. :)

I was playing in the city (forget the name of it right off) and the sky darkened just as the daughter got off the school bus. I was excited, as its the first and only time I'd seen a meteor! So I left her as still as possible hoping it'd kill her.. Pretty soon she freaked and ran in the house with her brothers and it hit my front gate. All I managed was a few singed kids and a massive fire that totaled the front yard.

Imo, its too hard to kill sims in Sims 3. Takes a week to starve one. Have to fight drowning sims to keep 'em in the water. Virtually immune to fire. Meteors rare and non-leathal :faceslap:
