View Full Version : Family Relations got lost after moving from one city to another

Hey everyone,
probably the problem I'm having isn't actually a "problem" in the classical meaning:
I created a female sims in the Riverview neighborhood and moved her to Bridgeport later. In Bridgeport she had a baby-boy, who moved ALONE back to Riverview, to kind of meet his grandparents (which worked, in the family tree they showed up as his grandparents). When I moved the original female sims back to Riverview her son wouldn't recognize her as his mother anymore! Instead there is a younger version of the female sims running around the neighbourhood, who has the same name and looks the same. In the family tree she is shown as his mother (I can tell that from the clothes she's wearing).

Can anyone tell me how I can change the whole thing, so his moved-back mother shows up in the family tree? Thanks.

Please excuse any language mistakes, I'm from Germany.

From the sound of things you've exported the child to the bin and moved him into a different hood. Sims will only retain their relationships if they are on the same lot or are part of the same family. You should be able to easily relink the child with the parent using Twallan's Master Controller (http://nraas.wikispaces.com/MasterController) which adds a option NRAAS Mastercontroller to any Sim you click on. Just click on your child and choose advanced-family-add parent and choose your parent from the list of available Sims. This should relink them to the mother so they'll recognize each other as being relation. The other relations such as grandmother should generate themselves as long as the mother is related to her own mother otherwise you'd just need to do the same thing to both the mother to link her to the grandmother and the child to link them to the mother. It's less complicated than it sounds.

Thank you so much, the thought of him coincidencally flirting with his mother while I'm playing another family in the neighborhood drove me crazy. :)
