Hi There,
Ive spent many years playing the sims and have never had a problem setting up CC.
I have all expansions except fast lane and master suite.
All patches are up to date.
But after ive installed pets (and updated), i cant see my .package custom content in the game!
I can still see the sims3pack files, so im assuming its something wrong with my framework.
So i go and delete all the cache files, remove the old mods folder, clean the registry, remove the resource files, and run the new framework on wiki.
I have run the framework about 3 times trying new things whilst going and even did an reinstall on the sims pets to see if that helps.
But no, i can still see the intro screen when i load up.

Do you still have anything installed the old way(in program files)? You can't have things installed both ways.

not that im aware of. Ive deleted everything ive read about. The only thing i could possibly think of is that the installer monkey icon is still there, but i have definately unistalled it and run a registry cleaner.

You still have the Monkey icon. Reread the Package install Wiki page, with that Big Red Box.
If it was removed with CCleaner, the icon would have reverted to the blank white page. You sure you checked everywhere you're supposed to check, like in VirtualStore path? If you need a step-by-step: Game_Help:GCCTSU3_Redo/Mods
If you're sure you've done everything, you can have Dashboard verify it for you. Game_Help:GCCTSU3_ModsVerifyFramework
If you don't understand the Dump report, copy and paste it (the contents of that Dump Info report) into your next post.

Ok... so i ran another registry cleaner and managed to find a download of the installer monkey, so reinstalled and uninstalled and now i have no monkey icon thank goodness!
However...
Still can see the intro screen
Here is the framework...
it doesnt show pets even though it is definately installed...?
Is this a problem?
Im at a wits end with this now :(

Pretty sure I have figured it out for anyone that has the same problem. My computer had started saving the files in my documents, but in the public folder rather than my user name folder. So complete uninstall (via wiki), registry clean, delete every single sims 3 folder you can find. Turn off sharing folders, and when you install all sims, do a custom install and select the folder you want it to be. Make sure they are all the same. After you have installed original sims, run the game before installing any others and make sure it has generated the folders for my documents in your user folders. Once all one, do the update patch and install correct framework. I'm in the middle of it now so wish me luck!!

Hi There,
I really hope someone can help because I don't know what to do!!
I was having problems with CC and loading saved files and now I know why.
I did 2 complete uninstalls to try to fix the problem and on the second checked the games. When I installed the original sims and made a save, it saves to users/documents folder. All good. But from pets onwards, it starts to save to public/documents folder!! So I figured I could put CC in the public and it plays, but when I save it, it goes to the public folder. The problem with this is, when I try to load that saved game, it tries to load it from the users/doc folder!! Is there a way to tell the sims 3 files to load from users/documents and bypass public? I've tried turning share files off, but , public folder is still there, you can't delete it. Ive also tried setting the directory upon install, but that only lets you change the actuall install directory for the game, not saves files, etc... Now I've tried copying all the files from public to the user file and deleted the my documents folder for public, but now the sims isn't loading at all :( do I really have to do another uninstall?? And how do I make sure sims doesn't create a folder in public again!!!

I rather we keep issues for each individual in one single thread, so I don't have to keep shuffling back and forth to check if this suggestion has been given or that one has been tried. it is just so we don't have to trace so many threads to get the back story and history on
- what has been done,
- what has been suggested,
- which suggestions were followed (or not followed) and
- and thus which instructions need to be repeated.
^^ This ^^ I'm thinking I need to take out a skywriting contract and make it in sparkly neon across the globe or something.
do a custom install and select the folder you want it to be. What is the custom path you install to, then?
Do this in a Window Explorer window: type in "%userprofile%" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Is the profile folder that is loaded the one you're logged into at the time? Is that your own user folder?
There are 0 packages in the scan location C:\Users\Emma\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads
Oh! And your scan location for Dashboard to scan is wrong.
As for newer addons than Generations not appearing - the program is not updated to detect newer addons (just check the update date on the item page and compare to the addon's release date). As the main purpose is to do with detecting Framework and CC in Documents folder, that is not something critical for the program's functionality.
Are you still on patch 1.29 at this time or have updated since running that Dump report? If updated, to what version (for base game)?

Hi there,
the path i install to is c:/program files/electorinic arts/the sims 3.
and the reason i posted a new thread is because it is a bigger issue.
I know why CC is not showing.
It is my game is saving the fles that normally go to just user/documents into that folder, but also another folder as well user/public/documents.
I cant play the game properly as it saves my games to the public folder, but tried to load it from user/documents folder.
Is there a way to tell the sims to only generate the files in the user/documents folder?
As ive tried to turn off the public folder, delete the documents folder in there, even use security to make the folder inaccessible, but the game wont load past the launcher now.
Ive uninstalled everything again and am just working with the first 3 games, and it still tries to save in the public folder, therefore not letting it load past launcher.
Also... i am on the latest patch for Showtime.

General - Post System Specs
We need more information before we can help with your issue.
Please post a Quick summary of your System Specs
Instructions on finding them are here: Game Help:System Specs.
Please Do NOT post your complete DxDiag report in your thread.
And this? What's the outcome of this?Do this in a Window Explorer window: type in "%userprofile%" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Is the profile folder that is loaded the one you're logged into at the time? Is that your own user folder? If this setting is messed up, means the registry is messed up and as Sims take data from this registry setting, this is why you're having issues.
Do you have 32 or 64-bit Windows? Let's see specs, please.

If the game cannot load with current user profile being messed up, create a new account and test with that? Does it also do this half-and-half thing on a new User Account?
I thought you installed to a custom path? Isn't "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3" the default path on a 32-bit system?
OK, can we leave discussion about CC disappearing for a minute and confirm the game functions otherwise? On a vanilla game?
No crashes, no freezing, no missing music from DJ Booth or Singing Sims?
No graphical glitches - water appears fine, mirror reflects correctly, fur is rendered with all its fluffy glory?
No jump bugs of any kind - Sims or pets related?
You can Simport?
You can get gigs? Sims on Showtime's new Performance Career tracks can increase their skills just fine?
You can switch and set Career outfits just fine?
And can set Hairs per Outfit OK too?
I'm surprised you're only encountering issues with 1.29 on that machine. May I know how often you play Sims 3 (in a week, say) and how long each gameplay session is?
Answer this too, please: Also how do you patch to 1.32? Which group do you fall into and which method within that group applies to you? State A-2 or B-1, etc.
Group A: Who has the leaked patch ?
People who used the superpatcher yesterday
People who reinstalled their game and patched from scratch
People who have not updated to 1.31 and patched directly to 1.32 with the superpatcher
Group B: Who does not ?
People who used the incremental patch
People who patched through the launcher but were already at patch level 1.31

I have made a new user profile now and the games seem to be loading correctly, so thank you!
Cross fingers this holds out!
So far i have had no glitches with the game, only lagging and occasional shut downs, but thats not very often (since i increased my virtual memory). I know my poor laptop does really well for what she is made of. It would be fantatstic to have a brand spanking new games computer, but unfortunately i cant afford these things :(
May I know how often you play Sims 3 (in a week, say) and how long each gameplay session is?
In a week (depending on other things going on) usually i play about 3 times a week, sessions can rang from less than an hour to 4 or 5 sometimes. Just depends what ive got on and how in the game i am.

When i first loaded showtime on my comp i was B-2
But because i was still having CC and saving problems i uninstalled and then i was B-1
Ive always used the launcher to update my patches.
Thanks again, and i will let you know if i have anymore problems with the game!

OK, good to hear! Since the game works otherwise, I won't ask to update drivers and such, no need to fix something not broken. ;)
