Transferring a family without using the exchange

There's a family of sims I really want on my old computer. I've got them into the upload section of the launcher but the computer can't handle trying to upload them and the launcher freezes.
How can I get my sims without using the launcher or the exchange?

Do you mean on 2 separate systems?
If you've already "Shared" the Household, they'll be in the Library folder. Then you can just grab this .package file (you can go by the datetime stamp for he last one you shared, if that is the last one you shared), and transfer it to your other system and dump it into the Library folder which would then appear in the Household tab ready for you to move them in.

If they are on the Upload section, I think they are in the Export folder as Sims3Pack, which you transfer into Downloads folder of the other system to be installed as regular CC.

By transfer, I mean use a USB drive or email it to yourself or copy+paste over your Home network, etc.
