View Full Version : Floating Head ('fixed', but is it really?)

So, I had recently downloaded some new clothes for my sims. Then I went to change one of my female sims into it. On CAS it looked fine but then it turned grey & white. So I ignored it, but when she left a building one day, she was just a floating head. I went to plan outfit and by giving her a completely different outfit, she's no longer a floating head & has her body back.
My question is, is that did I corrupt anything? :| I haven't saved it. For about an hour now. When I go to save it, should I save it under another name until I know it's safe? Is there anything I can do to see if she is corrupted or not?

I would save under a different name just to be safe. Then I would get rid of that new outfit. She should be fine, but as far as I know the only real way to see if she is corrupted is to just keep watching her for a while to see if anything weird is going on.

I see, thanks for the quick reply... I wonder though, what kind of odd behaviour does a corrupt sim exhibit? (other than being just a floating head of course.) I was looking for something on here about floating heads, and the only results I got were of a downloaded sim that was messed up in general.
I saved it under a different name anyways, so far she looks okay. In bodyshop when fixing her, her neck was missing but getting it to reload the portrait fixed it. Right now she's playing guitar like nothing happened.
So in other words, what kind of behaviours should I be on the look out for? I've never heard of corrupt sims in sims 3... Also she is a maxis sim (foreign townie, NEVER dead) if that helps any, but I changed her hair & clothes normally and nothing strange ever happened. Another part that worries me is that the shoes came from the Sims 3 Store.
